I was at a light today and a turbo PT cruiser pulls next to me in the left turn only lane but he wants infront of me. Not happening.

Anyway, I took off moderately fast and then nailed the gas at 3500rpm, as I approached 5500rpm the front tires started to slip. I shifted to 2nd and the tires grabbed. I have K11 Kuhmo (sp) on stock rims and they are pretty new.

My question is, how do you guys keep wheels from spinnin on the 1/4 mile strip. I have never ran on a track but am eager to do so.

PT Cruisers are the UGLIEST cars on the face of the earth. They are hideous, and their owners have some weird tastes for owning them.

The guy obviously had VQ envy and wanted to try and show you up, even though there is no way in hell of that happening, even by a turbo cruiser. Way to show the foO your tails.

 

your tires slipped B4 u shifted into second.....??? got damn where in your sig did u mention the custom turbo???? what do u have done to your car to make the wheels spin b4 u shift into second

 

I think he means the tires started chirping while he was flooring it towards red line...and then it grabbed well in second

 

Mine have done that, More on a simi slipery surface. but its like when in 1st gear and I floor it Once i hit 5000 - 5500 rpms the wheels will spin. Same tires but also did it on the Pilot Sports.

 

I have had the same thing happen. I start off at part throttle to avoid wheelspin but at about 4k rpm at WOT my tires break loose while still in first gear.
