was it a demo? that mileage, that year, that price... I'll bet the sales team beat the ever-living crap out of that car!

Besides the price being way to high, I say go for it. the 6spds are rare. A buddy on the org bought his for $18K I think with 25K miles on it.

Verify the condition of the car. Tell them you want it really bad. Take a friend with you who can drive a stick. And make sure you release the parking brake whenever you leave the dealer lot .

they have to sell demo cars before 10k miles... if you read my post carefully what I said was "was it a demo?" because those things all add up to demo and he should ask and do a carfax to see if it has ever been titled. If not, it's a demo and it's been beat on.

what is up with people lately? Sorry for giving him another question to ask the salesman

Exactly and plus people keep saying John Doe got one with this many miles for 4k less, 5-10-15k more miles on an 03 Makes a world of difference in price. If you have over say 9-10k on an 03 you will take a Mileage hit along with depreciation remember it is still 2003. That is why you are seeing all of these 03's with high mileage 20-30k selling for so low 18-19k no ones going to pay for a car that in many cases that may be months old to a year with that kind of mileage. He might be able to go a tad lower but not much, those guys know that a 03 manual is tough to come by!

sorry, I'm having a bad week... anyway, if it's got over 10k miles it's probably not a demo. I tried buying a 1994 mitsu eclipse gsx (awd, turbo, loaded... ) and the guy said I couldn't test drive it off the lot. Turns out it was a demo with 9,950 miles and if it hit 10k they were going to take it up the *ss and lose a lot of money on the car.

so he wouldn't let me drive it and I still considered buying it until he dropped the bomb... because it was a demo it hadn't been titled and was still considered NEW and he wanted sticker for it. I laughed out loud right in his face. It was still on the lot months later when I moved.

cliff's notes..
demo=beat on
demo=higher price
demo=not used to no negotiation

if it's a demo there is no way I'd buy it, but used I'd consider if he dropped the price some.

good luck, and ask ALL the questions up front!!!

that's the best way... or ask them if it's been titled before and if so, by whom. If it's been titled (and NOT to the dealer) then it's used and probably not a demo.

most likely since it is fully loaded and is sellilng around the 10k mark, plus registered as a commercial vehicle.

i'll bet it has HLSD also. Check to see if the pedals have the drilled pads.

There could be two possible scenarios here. First, as mentioned before this could have been a company car and second, this may have been a rental car. I only see one problem with both, typically a company will not get you a manual transmission car and 9 out of 10 rental cars (in this class) are going to be automatics as well. So how it was registered as a commercial vehicle escapes me? Any other thoughts? But if you can talk them down, sounds like a good deal.

Doesn't sound too bad, but if you could get them to take off maybe 1g off it would be even better.But if you can't get it anyway you'll luv it.

Ouch, reading this thread hurts. I was all fired up about getting my 2k3 6-speed TE (no HLSD) with 29k miles last week for 19k! If you can snag this for anything around 19, then go for it!! Just don't tell me.
