heads - remove precats....lots of noise....forget lookin like a pimp, you'll be too loud.....and finally....i'd be worried about emissions
but my main reason is noise level.

I would get the headers if the put out significant numbers over the y pipe. Right now I'm not sold on Stillens headers but I haven't ruled them out either. For the time being I went with the Cattman Y pipe (and hopefully soon a TS ECU). I'll reasses my position in a few months when there is more data and hopefully some competition from Hotshot. If it looks good for the headers I'll be selling my Y pipe and switching to headers.

after hearing studman's wav files of his headers, I dont think i'd put them on cause of the noise. they were real, real loud. be nice if they proved to put down some good gains, but dont think I want that loudness. that cattman y-pipe looks great tho! along with a b-pipe, i think that'll hold me over for a while

At this point, I'm going to get the cattman y-pipe. And from the looks of the dyno results and Polo's feedback, it makes decent power. Plus, I agree, I don't want all the noise.
But, doesn't the y-pipe for the '02-'03 remove the pre-cats??
Funny thing is I remember reading some threads a few months ago saying that the y-pipe doesn't make power in the '02-'03 Max.

dont know the difference but sure dont dyno the same- headers are out of the question 2much$$$$
the y + my budget b should be enough exhaust gains for me- keeps the max sounding aggressive
but not obnoxiously loud-

I'd say wait till we have more info to go by. Cattman is using a different dyno and the numbers are a little off kilter. No independent dyno's yet.
3 people have the headers installed 2 have dyno'd and Stillen is working with Will & Studman we should have more news soon.

a ****ty looking weld and bend on the warpspeed whereas the Catmann
appears to have a nice finish-looks to be two pipes flush into one-
the distance also from the flex section to the cat is shorter on the warpspeed which could mean that there's less backpressure into the cat
could produce less hp and more sound(loudness) - since the second the gases pass the flex section they blast into the cat -whereas the catmann has more tubing before the cat creates a stream flow into the cat- does this make sense?
the Catmann
undoubtebly has a better design and I bet the finish internally is
of better quality which helps-

Stealin headers
$1100
A B!tch to install (and remove for warranty work)
Provides 0 horsepower gain and you lose 8 lb/ft of torque.
Cattman Y-pipe
$300
Easy to install
Provides 16 horsespower to wheels (??? torque)
I definitely want the Stealin headers.
