Just test drove the G35 coupe auto. All I can say is DAMN, the torque feels luvlee, handles better, just a overall better car. But the dealer was only willing to give me 16,500 for my Max. It's 1 year old with 18K miles on it. damn.

 

As a trade in, its about right. The dealer will turn around and try to sell it for about 23k. You could always sell it yourself for $20k-$21k

 

if you wanted a G35 why did you buy a Maxima?

 

That seems a little low. My 2k3 SE is 1 1/2 years old with 18k and i was offered $18,500 at 3 different dealers. I really don't have any options other than sunroof.

 

Those numbers aren't bad compared to what i got offered, $12,800 for my car when I tried trading it in for a Honda Pilot (need more space another baby is on way). I have a cloth/bose/sunroof 2K2 SE but I do have high mileage though, 48k.

 

Yeah that seems really low, plus you are taking a mileage hit as well, but 16,500 is still low.

 

You don't seem to understand. What the dealer OFFERS you is not necessarily what the car is worth. It's only what they offer you. Of course they will try to lowball you just in case you are a sucker and agree. They can always offer higher(not lower).

 

Exactly! Put it on your local newspaper classifieds, you'll fetch 20K easily.

 

I just found out the samething...I was trying to trade mine in today--2k2
with 20k and 16500 was trade-in valvue--kinda sucks doesnt it

If you haven't test driven the G35 coupe, do it! The car feels more powerful than just 25 more horsepower. The exhaust notes are wonderful! The optional 4 peice aero kit is beautiful. The dude took a turn at 50+ mph and the car squatted and hugged luvlee!
The manual shift 5 speed is awsome!
Once you test drive it, you'll want to know the trade-in value of your Max also.

 

25 more horse and 5 speed? i thought only the 6 speed sport coupes were 280 hp.

 

I'm a newbie here and haven't quite figure dout how to change my signature, Anyway, here's my thoughts on the G35 coupe.

I am biased here because I own a 03 350Z 6spd and I also own a 02 Maxima 6 Spd SE. Both are Gacier Pearl or Pike Peak White. (Same color, BTW)

Anyway, test drive the Z, its not as luxurious as the G35, but it has more power, and about $3-4K cheaper.

Yes the G35 is a four door, but test drive a 350Z 6spd. You will be amazed at the difference.

The Z has 7 more HP but a big difference in my opinion.

I might be biased, but I do love my Z though. And my Maxima also.

I was talking about the G35 Coupe that has 280 in both the 5 spd and 6 spd models.

 

I like the 350Z also, but I can't justify a 5 spd auto 350Z.

And IIRC, I think it's 5 spd auto and 6 spd manual for G35C.
