Questions For Those Who've Installed Front Brake Pads
Questions For Those Who've Installed Front Brake Pads
Hi, Everyone.
My mechanic buddy was helping me install new front rotors and brake pads today, when he noticed a difference between the OEM pads and the new ones I got.
With the OEM pads, each of the four pads have pad wear sensors on them so that the pad return levers on the upper pad retainer can clip onto them. With the new pads I got, there are only pad wear sensors on two of the four pads. If these get installed, I would have two loose pad return levers. So my mechanic didn't install them. Unfortunately, I can't return the pads as he sanded the pads a bit before he realized the difference. The new pads I bought are Bendix Import Quiet MKD430IQ which are supposed to work with '00/'01 Maximas according to their application chart.
For anyone who has done their front brake pads, did all four pads have the pad wear sensors? If so, which brand and type are you using? If not, did you still install them?
Thanks.
Peace.

You should inspect your brakes when you rotate your wheels, every other oil change.
