***A question about lowering***

On my car now, i sit at about a 2 finger front wheel gap on 18" rims and 225/40/18 tires. I have no clue in inches how low of a drop i have. I may be getting the tein coilovers soon and it says their max front drop is 3.1 inches. How low will a 3.1 inch drop sit me?....Will i be able to go lower then what i am at now? I just don't want to spend all that money for the teins to realize that i am sitting at the same height as i was with the gc's...

I also want to see how these advanced coilovers handle since no one on the org(as far as i know) has the tein coilovers on a 5th gen...hehe

Generaly speaking, I think one could safely assume that ANY standard drop spring cannot drop a car lower than a coilover system.

So in other words, you should be good with your coilovers.

The Teins would probably lower it a bit more, but it looks like your overall drop is pretty much around the 3" mark right now. Don't 4get your tire diameter is smaller then the OEM diameter of 25.9" so that also plays a role in lowering your car. I doubt you'll see much of a difference but if you want the adjustable box thing from the inside of the ride...then Tein is the way to go, your call man.

GC vs tein coilovers ...... get the teins if u got the loot. coilovers arent just for the drop which is what it sounds like u want em for. GCs are nothing compared to real coilovers. if u want to handle like a **** and have the adjustablilty then get teins.... if u just want a drop keep ur GCs.

will

how about the cattman coilovers?
They are much cheaper and Ive heard only positive remarks so far
a 3.1 " drop will set you about 3/4 - 1" lower then the springs

You'll be fine, i just put JIC's on my max yesterday. different systems, but same idea. I have 25 1/8 from asphault to wheel well and i can still go considerably lower, didn't go lower myself (couldn't get the jack out). Oh i should change my sig.
