If you get the custommaxima one, which is the one I have it will not increase sound, since it has a built in resonator....

Just get a striaght aluminum pipe and bolt it on...thast all it is.... If all you want to do is increase sound..remove your stock resonator. Is sound all you are after ?

My Y-pipe was quiet until I added the CM straight pipe. However, I'm pretty sure it's cuz of an exhaust leak since the pipe came with some sh!tty azz gaskets!

no i want performance and sound. Im kinda new to all this stuff...but where is the stock resinator located? and the straight pipe gets rid of the catalytic converter correct? and would i be able to pass emissions with the straight pipe, and also will the straight pipe increase sound?

There is no power gain to be had by replacing the stock catalytic converter with a straight pipe or another high flow cat.
