I have a 2003 Maxima se 6spd bone stock. I am going to mod my car pretty soon and I was wondering what kind of modification can i add to beat those 2000-2003 GT Mustangs (V-8 stock) .Im sick and tired of not being able to beat one of them on long runs. How much HP/TQ do 2000-2003 Mustangs GT have and what are they clocking from 0-60 and 1/4 mile.

And to make your car run with them you need a UDP, a frankencar intake (don't buy the injen, it don't make more hp and is not as loud.!!!!! My friend also have a 6speed max and says the samething.!!!!!!). Some H&R springs to level the car, and a Cattman cat-back Exh. And you should be good.

Low 15's is nothing to write home about, especially in a rwd V8 muscle car. But, the stick GT will run mid 14's at 95 mph+, thus a 6spd Max is a worthy opponent, and it will come down to driver skill.
If the stick GT knows how to launch worth a s**t (300lb torque) stick Max will have to play catch-up.
FWIW, maj of auto GT Coupes and Verts run high 14's-low 15's 92-94 stock. Stick GT's run 14.2-14.7 93-98 stock. You will find very few bone stock GT's, auto or stick, so you may have your hands full if the Mustang is being driven by somebody fairly competent. Btw, all the times I posted above are my personal observations while at the track. In the last 4 years I've seen quite a few -hundreds- 281CID Vertical taillight GT Mustangs, both stick, auto, coupe and vert...
Mags tend to get mid 14's stick high 14's-low 15's auto.

Are you talking about the filter or the intake. My friend has sold the injen for the frankencar with the apexi. I think it's the sound and little power gain he has gotten that really makes him crazy.!!!!!!!

As far as noise goes, of course the Frankencar will be louder. It's right inside the engine bay, so all the noise will reverberate throughout the engine bay.
In any case, the Apexi filter should filter and perform better than the "smaller" filter that comes with the Injen.
I used to have an 86' mustang lx 5speed(my first car modded ran 13.6's) which I bought from my friends older brother- This guy has bought/sold mustangs all his life (currently has a 93 Saleen convertble blown w/~500hp) and after driving my 6-speed he told be that the Max(was stock at the time) is faster(pulled harder up up top past 70+mph) than any stock gt/lx

the few dyno comparisons around here have shown a 1-3hp difference between injen and franken. There is no way he feels that difference.
99+ GT's with the 5 speed run low 14's to high 13's from the factory. If you would actually do a search on this subject, you'd notice the 5 million previous threads about this same issue...
Let me shed some light on this subject...
5 speed 99+ GT's are low 14-high 13 second cars dead stock. The car is capable of a best of 13.85 at 100 MPH in the 1/4 with full interior and spare/jack removed, on street tires.
5 speed 99+ GT's have ZERO breathing problems at high speed. Sure, they don't have a variable intake, but they do have two more cylinders and a pretty good capacity to rev. They easily flow 650+ CFM in the stock setup...
99+ GT's are rated from Ford at 260 HP at 5250 RPM and 302 TQ at 4000 RPM. Does that number 5250 RPM ring a bell? Thats where the TQ/HP curves cross, meaning the GT has 260 TQ at 5250 RPM...hence, no upper end breathing or acceleration problems...
The Curb weight of the Premium GT (heaviest of the GT coupes) is 3347. That's only about 100 pounds or so heavier than our cars, but the RWD dynamics of the GT and TQ numbers (and area under the curve) negate any weight advantage that we have over the GT. Their engine is not as peaky as ours (even though our V6 is one of the less peaky V6's out there)...
As proven over and over again here (check the 1/4 forum), stock 6 speed 02+ Maximas TYPICALLY run mid 14's stock, and maybe dip into the 14.3's with a gutted interior/removed spare/jack etc...
Automatic 02+ Maximas have run a best of 14.66 (as far as I can recall/research here on the .org) in the 1/4
So in the end, the GT 5 speed is faster car vs. car. The difference is, as always, with the driver. Please let this end the debates...

[/QUOTE]I switched from Frankencar to injen and I think my car performs better. Plus I was tired of the minor issues I kept having with the frankencar brackets and such.

The stang is a more capable car because its got that V8. To be able to compare our V6 cars with 1.1 liters less displacement is pretty impressive isnt it? True, a very good driver in a 5 speed stang should beat out a 6 speed Max by a little. It does depend a lot on the driver though. I've had a run with a stock (I assume) GT mustang, 2002 I believe, and we were basically dead even to about 75 where we shut it down. He wasnt a real good driver though, it was some kid and his buddy. But I wouldnt feel too bad about being beat by a stang, they are made to be faster cars
15.1@93mph for a 99+ auto GT is **** slow. Most auto GT hardtops are good for 14.4-14.5@95-96mph. Unlike the GT/LX autos of the past, the 99+ autos give up very little to the 5 speeds. I've been walked by 99+ GT autos with very few bolt-ons and look at my trap speed. What's tell you? The 99+ GTs have some ***** up top.

Some of you make Injen sound like the worest intake there ever was, and Frankencar is like the "Boss" of all intakes for Maxima.
I don't have Frankencar, but heard lots of good things about it.
I have Injen in my car and I can honestly say its better than stock.
Some facts I've read on .org.
-FrankenCar will gain more top end HP, but lose some low end torque
-Injen gain low end and midrange power, but doesn't gain as much top end as Frankencar.
As far is Injen being a CAI (It depends on what you personally think), I could hook up a temp sensor in the intake and get a reading of the temp, but I don't have the equipment. Maybe someone can do this and varify for everyone if Injen its a CAI or not.

Ok guys, I'am not trying to p!ss everyone off with me and my friends opinion. Everyone knows a maxima is a decent car that can run with the best of them, four door or a two door, I4, V6, and some V8.!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Everything he wrote is 110% correct. Hell, even bolt-on automatics are in the 13's easily. A buddy of mine runs 13.8 @ 100mph with shift kit & catback exhaust in his 01 GT Automatic. My dad's 00 GT 5 speed has run 14.2 @ 98mph with a crappy *** 2.25 60' and spinning more than desired on the 1-2 shift.
BTW his also put down 235rwhp/282rwtq with only the intake silencer removed.
