Front strut (tower) bar ... good or bad?

Since i am very new to the 5th gen MAxima world, i would like to know if installing a FRONT strut tower bar in my '03 Maxima SE would affect the handling of the car in a positive way? Would it be really noticeable change or its not worth the money?

Also, which one would be the best bar .... can i trust the quality of the strut bars sold on Ebay for $20-60 each? I know that Stillen has excellent strut bars but they are too expensive for me. Anyone using a "cheap" bar with success?

Thanks in advance!

I installed one on my 2k max, the cheap kind bar thou
I *think* it handles better, but it could be that it just seems to handle better. Could take 90degree turns at a little higher speed with no sqeaking or sliding easily with my crappy tires. So it may have some positive effect. People say that rear sway bar has a lot of noticable effect

To me it made a difference. Not night a day, but it was enough to make it worth the price. I purchased the Custom Maxima FSTB, but you can get them from just about anywhere and at different prices. Just make sure you get the right one for your Max. Some 02 and 03 Maximas have had clearance problems with the FSTB. I was one.

i'm aware that a RSB will plant the rear end to the ground better around corners, but since installing
my FSTB I feel the front carves into the turns better and its not so sloppy in quickly switching lanes on the highway as opposed to stock - rsb is
mos def next

i got mine on ebay from like $30 (with shipping). seems to make a difference...could be all in my head though. even if it doesn't...it looks cool - and was only $30!

personally, i don't think it made enough difference to spend $200 on one!

anyways, Courtesy Nissan (courtesynissan.com) also sells one for around $50. i have ordered from them several times...good guys.

cheap or expensive - should fit fine. just sure it claims to be made for your year Max. installation was a breeze...took only a minute or two. i had to bend a little tab out of the way a bit to make mine fit...no problem at all though...just needed a few more mm to clear.

And I might add that there are members who are selling their FSTBs in the Classified F/S forum.

FSTB definitely helps more than any other suspension/handling mod (for the price) that I can think of...

I'm selling a Courtesy Nissan FSTB right now
