Rear End Collision

I was on my way to work and at 7:45A I was involved in an accident. I was completely stoped at a traffic light and this lady out on no where slams right into me at 40 MPH.

To make a long story short I encountered some minor lower back injuries, the Max encounter very minimal damage surprisingly for the speed she was goin. Click HERE to see the pics.

Oh...in case anyone wanted to know she was driving a mid-90s Toyota Camary. Her car looked pretty much totaled to me. Her whole front end was shoved into the front windshield. Don't have pics of that but wish I did.

I didn't realize the rear end's of the 5th Gens were constructed that well.

Whoa ....... that was impressive. The Maxima held up really good. But it's good to know that you are OK.

I'm just glad it wasn't too bad for you and the Max.

Your hit doesn't look like one that was at 40mph, even mine was considered to be hit at a slower rate than that (Police figures based on skidmarks or something like that). The shop guys did think it could easily have been 40-45 given the damage.

Looks to me like the Camry also nosedived under your rear (same as mine, although it was a Sentra). If the impact is anywhere near as strong as mine was, be assured that you'll have a bit of frame damage and there's a chance that the rear beam will have to be replaced.

But judging from your photo's, it doesn't look like it though.

Wow, very similar to mine... I got hit by a ford escort going about 20-25 and had very similar damage.

You have "some minor lower back injuries" but you didn't seem to have a problem getting on the ground to take the pictures

that was also a head on. so if the other person was going 40 that would be 80.
no way rearending someone at 40 would do that
