my auto v.s. six spd.......
03 ser spec-v with cold air intake and catback exhaust. it was my friends car. we raced at a stop light till about 80 mph. i brake torqued to 1500 and light turns green , actually spun my tires through first gear.(surprised me, he spun his tires too) pulled ahead of him about 2 car lengths and stayed same distance until we let off at 80. i might have inched away maybe but, very close............. not bad for an auto 3.0 max. remember stock for stock the vspec is slightly quicker.....

It's nissan's stupid gearing...why the HELL would they put a 6spd in that ugly pos... (they're not hard like the rsx)
180hp from that little 2.5 POS is pretty impresive, dont you think?. you only have 60 more hp from one full litter, the 6sp will give a hard time for an auto 2k/2k1, most likely win by a tenth or 2 in the 1/4....the 2k2/2k3 will kill it though

Well...either I'm a terrible driver or my a s s isn't sensitive enough, but when I drive my friends 4th gen GLE (slightly modded with intake, y pipe, cat back) it seems to own my friends spec v (headers, intake, udp, cat back)...am I crazy?? I've driven both...

I would think that the B15 SE-R with the wider geared 5spd and lighter 16's would be quicker than the Spec-V with the closer 6spd and heavier 17's. Torquey engines don't need tons of gears like a high-strung VTEC engine does - the 6spd must be purely for marketing. I think they only made the SE-R/5spd/16" one or two years. Now the regular SE-R is auto-only.

i test drove a spec-v before i bought my max...and those things are real quick...makes you feel like drivin a boosted civic...and handlin superior to that of maxima...but then again i liked the low revin smooth sound of the 3.5 and size also matters
