Hey, my name is Jon and my sister just bought a 98 gxe by my recommendation. I love the car and so does she. I love the looks and all around performance of the car! I own a 93 se-r so i'm on the sr20 forum all the time. I just thought I would register on this forum as well because I will mainly be the one doing the work on her car...

btw the thing is fast as hell!!

 

98 is 4th generation so you might wanna post it there.
it may be faster then then your se-r but not a 5th gen :-)

ok fast and the furious...enough already...Damn a dude comes in to announce he's new to the site and you guys are arguing about who's faster, a Sentra or MAxima....why don't you just take a ****ing road trip to each other and put your money where your mouth is...on the track. Oh and before you start taellin me how you can smoke me too....I will tell you...YOU CAN. But lets also recognize that neither of you bought MAximas or Sentras just for speed..there's more to driving than speed. And if speed was all that counted, you'd both have bought RWD cars with V-8's or something.

Reston to Long Island is only about 6 hours...Philly is midway more or less...Go to the old Philly Naval Base...there is an old airstrip there you can race on. Problem solved.

dont mess with that car, from what it seams, he knows his stuff on sr20forum.com and he isnt lieing to you about saying its fast. i wasent offended anyways, i get **** all the time from people who dont know anything about cars

 

Deep thoughts;
Alot of talk about FAST this and FAST that...
Ok, a maxima is fast (for a 4-door, 3200lb, FWD 4-door sedan)
A heavily modded SE-R is perhaps faster (for a 4-cylinder econocar).

But let's be perfectly honest here...neither is FAST in the grand scheme of things. A 911 Turbo is fast. A ferrari is FAST. Hey even a modded STI is pretty damn fast. Mario Andretti is fast.

Lets try to keep it a little real here...I love my Maxima and think it's as quick as I need in a midsize sedan with practical aspects as well. But short of supercharger/turbo/NOS...a Maxima will never be TRULY fast. And neither will an SE-R. They are both nice cars, adn as long as your car is fast enough for you, that's all that matters. So enough of this hating...ALL OF THAT CRAP AND THIS PLACE SOUNDS LIKE A FREAKIN RICE-RACER CIVIC FORUM...LETS PRETEND LIKE WE HAVE AS MUCH CLASS AS OUR CARS DO...... Where's the love?
