Hotshot Headers

Well the Max is finally in the shop and getting headers fitted . Some little info, first the Altima headers will be tried and modifications done to them. According to John the prices for our headers will the the same as for the Altima.
I'm so f**king happy my B-day is on Friday and that's the day I'll be getting the car back.

Hey 1SWTO2 congrats and happy b-day.
Pay careful attention to the noise level increase, as that is what I (and probably a lot of other people) would like to know.

Sounds great. What other mods do you have on the Max?

re: headers

It's not taking long since they already have the Altima headers to start with. As per how they explined they are going to bolt on the Altima headers and modify them to work for out car.
Other mods were intake, which was removed since HS wanted the car as stock as possible. All that's in the car is a K&N panel filter.
Sorry I didn't have a chance to dyno, everything was so quick. I will definetely dyno after I get the headers back.

Too late for baseline dyno car is getting headers put on as we speak. I would take them off for a baseline, but I heard it's a lot of work.

6 speed

I think all tracks are closed for the season, if any one know of a track in Southern Cal open let me know. My best time was 14.7 stock will wheel, jack and 300+ sound system.

We have lots of baseline dynos from others for comparison. If you are making 222hp at the wheels after the headers, obviously we have significant gains.

Items most of us are interested in:
Power? (obviously)
Total cost?
Noise? (do you have the stock muffler on?)
Overall quality?
Install difficulty?
Fitment?

Don't worry about posting this information anytime soon? We are not going to be seating around, waiting for your reply, hitting the refresh button over and over, bogging down the server, in hopes to see good news about a REAL product for our cars.

Great to see you're being a guinea pig here. Hopefully the headers will prove to have the same results as they did on the Altimas. Keep us informed, and get that dyno ASAP!

No, we have a baseline from other brand dynos. They shop he said he will use to dyno isn't using a Dynojet. I have no idea what type of dyno it is, but it isn't a Dynojet, so it's not a comparable baseline.

I went from a 14.7 to a 14.35 1/4 mile with HS headers on 3/4 tank of gas with my 5spd Altima, no interior components removed and stock air pressure. Car weight without driver was 3170.

Well, I went with a 24" resonator along with my custom CB. Between 2k and 3k rpm, there is drone which I'd love to get rid of. After 3K, it's a nice snarl, not loud at all.

Here's my review, good, bad, etc:

I called HS earlier today for an update. The project is not going as planned, as I probably will not my car back until mid next week .

header update

Well here the good/bad news, the headers/ Y-pipe are totally different than those on Altima. I picked up my car today, but without the headers since they are a rough prototype . Once the first set of production header comes in (depends on demand and preorders), my car will be brought in. During the next stay at HS they will aquire a before and after dyno run. So maybe in 2 to 4 weeks our cars will finally get some decent headers.

This info. was passed on from John @ HS

I'm curious if there's an update also. It seems there are a few potentially great modifications being worked on right now or in the near future for our cars. This being one of them. It is hard to be patient, but I am sure when released the wait will be worthwhile.
