well this older civic hatch and me are lined up at a light and i wasnt gonna really race. the light turned green and we both started going and then she stepped on it so i did too. I was pulling on her the whole time but she was only like at my back bumper by like 45-50... the civic was a stick and im an auto with frankencar... her car was pretty loud when she stepped on it and no it didnt have a huge exhaust, it was the stock one.... should i have beaten her by more? was she hiding something?

 

Loud with stock muffler probably means one of twothings:
1. hole in the muffler. don't laugh...I have had a honda before, and their emissions mix causes mufflers to rust really fast if they aren't stainless steel.
2. Intake. Know how your car sounds louder when you are heavy accel with frankencar? same thing...

But no way a civic should be able to hang with you unless heavily modded, in my opinion.

And a chick was doing this? Well, maybe she was just trying really hard to get a look at you

 

yeah it wasnt hole in the muffler loud, most likely an intake. haha and then she wouldnt look at me at the next light.

 

ouch! though a civic with just an intake should have no chance against a maxima...maybe she had a turbo, who knows. Was she hot?

B16 in it for sure!!! Only an intake can't stand a Max!! even if it's the "big" model : SI!!!

 

In my pathetic opinion, if you didn't launch quickly and she did, you are at a disadvantage until your rpms get up. She could have launched hard just to keep up with you at half throttle.

Find her and this time smoke her cause you can.

 

let her beat you, then pull over into a pkg lot and talk to her and try to get a piece of that. sometimes, you gotta look at the bigger picture

 

probably turbo. or a really tuned si or integra type r engine under the hood. If you had taken the race further you would have just walked away from her.

 

for those of you actually giving real racing advice, you guys are dorks. b itch in a civic....please, just tag it and be out

 

you shouldn't be surprised that there alot of girl reacer out there. My performmance shop owner says that is easy made money becuase they are willing to pay for turbo, engine swip .the Girls in school know what they are doing in therm is cars. The one things I notice mostly likly they to drive races out civis or mit elicps.

She probably had an engine swap of some kind...the B16 is a good engine for a civic...it can make a civic be in the 15s for the quarter mile...they also make a japanese version of the B16 that has got 20 more HP then the american B16

 

..put whatever engine you want in it...it's still a civic...short on class, and built for the great mass....it may be fast, but you will not pick up classy women in a civic...a nice looking maxima, on the other hand....

civic hatches run mid 14's on V-tec's and boltons alone

 

I doubt it had a swap. Yes, older hatches with just a B16A will run mid-14's. These are 2200-2300 lb cars with 160hp. You do the math. The older CRXs with the same engine and some mods are killers. 14 flat at 100+ mph. She probably just had the stock motor with some mods. If it was a B16A you would have been seeing tail lights.

 

even with all the mods she could have done, you still should have taken her...next time, watch the other traffic lights. When they hit red, count to three and punch it! It'll be green

 

i still beat her and i didnt even think we were gonna race so i just started normally and punched it going like 15-20... we stayed even for a couple seconds and then i just started to pull away, at my back bumper by the time i shut it down. i was steadily walking her though after those first couple seconds...

That Civic does not need no B16 to run 15's. With B16 engine it will easily run low 14's. Those cars are very light and can be pretty fast.
