question about CEL codes.
hi fellow org members i had a tripped CEL and these two scanned codes came out. P0420 and P1320 the first is a O2 sensor right bank1 and the other is "Ignition signal primary circuit fault". my question is, could the second codes tigger the first code? could the second code be cause by a misfire? could anyone enlighten me on what is wrong. thanks in advance

The P1320 code could be caused by a mis-fire/no-fire condition, which in-turn would cause the O2 sensor to read "rich-(nothing)-rich-(nothing)-rich" or "lean-(nothing)-lean-(nothing)-lean". Once the O2 reads 5 rich or 5 leans in a row within 5 seconds, the SES light will be activated, throwing a P0138, P0139, P1147 or P1167 code.
The P0420 is a fault of the 3-way Cat located in the headers on bank 1, while P0430 is a fault of the 3-way Cat located in the headers on bank 2.
The P0420 and P0430 codes could be activated by a pinched exhaust or intake pipe, by a timing error, by a failed coil, by a leaky fuel injector, or by a faulty cat in the headers.
I would have the P1320 code diagnosed first. The service manual that I have doesn't describe the P1320 code in detail, so I'd check around a few dealers to find out what it takes to diagnose and/or fix the problem. Once it's resolved, reset all the codes and monitor for the P0420 code. I have a feeling that the P1320 caused the P0420.
