Brake pads

I need to buy some break pad for my maxima. I do not want OEM brake pads. I was wondering what kind of brake pads people use on 5th gen maximas that are aftermarket. Please post the type of brake pads you have and where you got them from. Appriciate the help.

raybestos "Quiet stop" they are ceramic pad. they are great for OEM rotor and they last a long time. They are about 30 bucks a set. pep boys or sears has them. It would be cheaper on online but I don't have a site.

How many miles do you have on your OEM pads?

I'm wondering about that as well. I'm still using the OEM brake pads since day 1 and I'm wondering how many more miles I can use them before I have to change them. I have 17000 miles now.

It will be different for everybody. If you drive in hilly areas or do a lot of heavy braking, your pads will wear much faster than someone that uses other driving styles. Manuals vs autos also make a difference. I have almost 133k miles on my 95 Nissan Kingcab and the OEM brake pads and shoes are only about 50% worn. It's a 5 speed. I have almost 22k miles on my 02 SE auto and the pads are still like new. I have not had to add any brake fluid yet.

I have 29K miles on my original set. My driving is 65% hwy and 35% city. I like the Raybestos Quiet Stop. Had them on my 99 Max and they were great. Autozone also stocks them.

i got 55k miles on my oem pads and i changed them last week. I bought pads from daveb, who i have only received stellar customer service from, and he said that nissan has remade the pads and that they are a lot better then the original pads (00-01). i have no complaints except that they might let out a little bitty squeek when i start using my car every morning. other than that i am thourghly impressed with them. I had to test them out the other day when some A-hole pulled out in front of me on the service road. with those new brake pads and the combination of my new kumho 712's i stopped on a dime. believe you me the brake pads made a difference. now i need some better rotors.

yeah, better rotors are neede but since i am totally into my max, i am going to get a Brembo big brake kit. Now that will stop a max in on a penny.
