painted my headlights

i wanted to paint my headlights to match the tails since i had some of the paint left over. i saw alot of posts about people opening them up first and doing it on the inside. i decided just to do mine exactly like the tails, on the outside. it was just as easy as painting the tails. i think it looks pretty sweet.
what do you all think?

KiLLeR2002se 11-25-2003 06:55 AM

sorry but thats really ugly.
That would probably look better on a black car

fishhouse 11-25-2003 10:21 AM

not feeling it myself either. good paint job though...i give you props for your creativity and effort though.

Anuj 11-25-2003 10:25 AM

yeah it looks better from the inside but then again, it looks better than stock as well..

SoonerFan 11-25-2003 10:34 AM

thanks for the feedback guys.
i wanted something diffirent so i did the outside. everyone who has painted headlights has the inside done. never seen one on the outside. i agree it would look better on black, but i still think it looks better then stock

Ben 11-25-2003 11:32 AM

Maybe try matching paint to the color of the car. I bet that would look good.

Manaz101 11-25-2003 12:40 PM

SoonerFan 11-25-2003 12:43 PM

well i must say im a little suprised. i though at least a few people would like it. o well, i like it

SoonerFan 11-25-2003 12:59 PM

i need to put a can of clearcoat over it so it shines a little more. it will look better then. more like the tails

jeepik 11-25-2003 02:05 PM

didn't say that.i think that doesnt look good either, the factory lights arent black...they are really dark smoke, so you can see through them when the sun shines through them, not just some paint slapped on the outside of them

RichK 11-25-2003 05:35 PM

Not to change the subject, but what lowering springs do you have Igor?

bigdo26 11-25-2003 05:52 PM

ya, dont mind the tails painted black, but the headlights are kinda weird. color matched to the car might turn out cool... try doin a photochopped pic with the headlights matched to your car.

neither are black. i isnt just 'paint slapped on the outside of them' i used tinting paint. you can see through both when the sun hits them. rears look just like stock SE tails. no one would be able to tell the diffirence.

i dont think that would look good either. i just wanted them to match the "SE" tails. i might just remove it all together.

bigdo26 11-25-2003 06:01 PM

does it look better in person? that is often the case as well. PS - nice to see people who take criticism very casually on the org. see, there really is nothing to get worked up about, people just have opinions and offer constructive criticism (usually)

it looks better in person, im still not 100% sold on it though. still havent decided if im gonna leave it on..
abaout the criticism..NO SH!T. people post "let me know what you think" then get mad and cry when the opinion is negative.

maybe you should pay for your own car :wall: JK!
"Please remove the paint!" was enough. i got the point. you just went from constructive criticism to being a d!ck :slap: :nono:

ryand.white 11-25-2003 09:16 PM

To each his own. It's your car. Do with it what you want. The only problem I've got is that you're a Sooner fan. I'm from NH but happen to be stationed in OK at Tinker AFB. All I see is OU stuff. No offense, but I hate 'em. Like the choice you made in your car though.

JdoubleOe703 11-25-2003 09:32 PM

reminds me of a panda... just different...

2k3blk6spd 11-25-2003 10:49 PM

Not really feelin it. If the car was darker maybe, but as long as you are happy with it that's all that matters.

I30tMikeD 11-25-2003 11:50 PM

Go Sooners!!!

wcasskicker 11-25-2003 11:59 PM

I like your head light, it will look great on black Max

First I was joking, notice the ":wall:" icon :slap:

2nd of all, who would pay for my car if I didn't?

:woowoo: woo wooo :)

stose95 11-26-2003 08:13 AM

I think its a little too black/dark. If you use black transperent paint which is made specifically for tail lights, and just spray 3-4 layers, I think that would look nice. It will give it a dark 'tint' look. The paint pattern you used is nice though

I was wondering what that might look like too...

It's not the best Photochop, but I'm at work so I didn't want to spend too much time on it.

MaximaDisciple 11-26-2003 09:52 AM

Like the talking horse on Ren & Stimpy says.....No sir, I don't like it.

It just sticks out like a sore thumb and all you end up seeing is the headlight.

chris'smax 11-26-2003 01:35 PM

They look ok.They will probably look better to me once LSU beats Oklahoma

Igor911 11-26-2003 01:37 PM

Best painting for the headlight u can do is inside to make it look like AE...
