Yes! Very functional. I can feel a big difference on the butt dyno!

I tried three different variations on the same basic theme to figure out which one was best. In all three cases, I attached something to the cut open bottom of the intake. First I tried a 4" drier duct going up, past the radiator and ending up behind the driver's front head light. I lost a lot of low end pull with that setup. Next I tried the 3" to 2" rubber adapter and the 2" elbow. This really worked well, but I wanted cold air, not hot air. I created option 3, a long runner made out of 2" PVC pipe threading up in front of the radiator and then over to the passenger headlight. This option was better than the 4" drier duct, but didn't pull as hard at high RPM's, suffered from a low RPM power drop and was really noisy. Now I am very happily running the 3" to 2" rubber pipe adapter with the short elbow. No complaints with this setup at all!

 

I've been wanting to upgrade the stereo somehow. For around $50, I should be able to do this myself. Very cool. Thanks ABS. Are you a technical writer for NEC or something. You sound like an EE professor.

As far as my knowledge of speakers, home audio HI-FI has been a hobby of mine for many years . . . I've built and designed my own complete speakers and cross-overs in the past and it is something I still enjoy working on . . .
