5th gen vs. 5.5th gen: seat comfort.

I was browsing through a couple of Maxima brochures and noticed that they changed the seats in in the 5.5th gen.

I was wondering if anyone had experience or an opinion as to which one is more comfortable.

I mention this because it looks like the 5th gen would be more comfortable and because completely bored of my *** @ work.

I think the 5.5 are more comfortabla then the 5th, but the 5th gen is more sporty.

since I am a here, how do you identify which type of seats you have?

I have leather seats in my 2002 SE. Which ones are they?

Coolmax, I thouht you would've gotten a car by now.

Well I know that the 5.5 gen maximas definately have better LOOKING seats than the 5th gens, but I'm not sure about the comfort since I've never sat in a 2k2-2k3 max.

dunno bout the 5th gens u've seen, but my 00 headrest is no where deemed HUGE as compared to my boy's 03....

I actually prefer his 03 seats/headrests to mine-at least his are "active"

Shame on me.

I was thinking the same thing...the 5.5th gen LOOK less comfortable. I haven't spent enough time in either car to judge.

btw, saw you heading eastbound on Hilliard (Canterbury light) last Friday @ 5pm (see midwest forum).

My butt slides all over on the huge front bucket leather seats when making corners.

Front seats do not hugs the driver. But I guess because its a family grocery getter, its okay.

Well I have both the 2000 5th, and the 2002 5.5th sitting outside. and i have to say on comfort level, the 5.5 is nice. The leather looks a lot better and feels better... I'm not kinky now But It seems i slide around a lot more in my 5.5th when i take those sharp turns. The headrest is a lot different. But i dont know if that's cause my 5.5th (softer) has side impact air bags. and the 5.th doesnt.

I think the 5.5's are better. With the Leatherseats.com kit I installed, it is alot softer than the stock padding too...

My buddy has a 2k2 with cloth...I have a 2k with heated leather and side airbags...I weigh in at about 170, my *** fits nicely in the 2k leathers and is well supported on sides and my back...I have done some road trips and am always comfortable. Not big on his cloths...they do not hold you around turns nearly as well. Can't say what the cfomparison would be between a 5th gen and a 5.5th gen if they both have leather....

hahaha, this is straight bullsh!t. Look at the posts, whoever has a 5th gen, says theirs are better than 5.5 and vice versa (well, most of the people from both groups). You guys have got to be kidding.

I've sat in both. 5.5 is better. Even better now with the padding with the leather interior kit.
