Finally, Finally, Finally!!!!!

I finally got my TEIN/KYB-GR2 combo installed . I'm satisfied w/ the drop and impressed w/ the ride quality. The only question I have is.. are these springs gonna settle w/ a noticable difference? I will post pics ASAP.

Yeah, where are the pics. This may be my deciding factor. If it looks right, i'll have some brand new, still in the box, H&R springs for sale.

I'm at work right now.. I'll take some pics as soon as I can. My cell phone has the built in camera but I'd rather take it w/ the digital camera at home.

This $hit is expensive! I got the springs for $173.00, the struts were $330.00, and the install ran me about $400.00 w/ 2 alignments; one after the car settles. I purchased the springs at the beginning of Sept. and got the struts about a month later.

Performance shops tend to charge on the lower-end of the scale while regular shops (E.g. Discount Muffler/PepBoy's/etc.) charge shop rates - thus why they're usually more expensive.

Not to mention, performance shops can usually do the swap in 2 hours or less - and they charge for that amount. The other shops charge shop-book rates per corner and/or hourly and will usually keep the car for a day.

Wow, $400 for something that you can do on your own (well except for the alignment) is pretty steep

$400 is way more than i'd ever spend on labor for an aftermarket anything to be installed for me. I would have done the springs myself, then get a lifetime alignment at like firestone/goodyear, or something, for like $150. If you lived by me, i'da done intall w/o alignment fo' fi' dolla.

I would do my own install also. Some people are not mechanically inclined enough to do springs and struts. It can be very dangerous if you don't know how to compress the springs.

Dang that sounds pretty expensive!

I paid $165 for the Teins, $200 for the GR-2's, $10 for a set of spring compressors, free uninstall of my Maxspeed/stock shocks and install of the new stuff w/the help of slammed95, and a free alignment after

Understood... but like I said before.. Things in this area are expensive. I would have done it myself but I would rather got it done professionally. Not like I spent my lifes savings to do this although I wish I could have gotten it done a lot cheaper.

Damn, that looks good. I guess, I'll be selling the H&R springs that I never put on. I live in the DC area too, I WILL NOT pay $400 to install springs/shocks. Anybody in the DC area willing to help a brotha out shoot me a PM.

The ride is really not that stiff to me during normal driving. But when I take a turn it holds really well. I'm very satisfied.

Are you still going to the Champion's meet tonight? Because I can just see it in person. That's if this snow threat doesn't keep me homebound.

$100-$150 here is about average.

My labor guide actually says it takes about 6hrs to do which is obviously bull. It takes no more then 2-2.5.

If they charge you for 6hrs and the labor rate is high then I can see why they charged $400. Thats a rip off and I work at a shop so im telling you straight up that you got hosed. Even taking my time it takes no more then 2.5 if im really try to rush it, it wont take that long at all. Anyway Im not trying to rub it in, its all said & done now so enjoy the drop.

I doenst really settle much so dont be surprized if it doesnt get any lower. I dont know if they get softer or my @ss just got used to it but after 10K miles they dont seem as hard as they used to be I got pics up on my cardomain in any1 wants to check em out.
