Losing sound on left speakers....

Im definitely taking the car to the dealership next time the sound dies and im conveniently near it. Have any of you had problems with the bose system fading in and out? My left speakers periodically shut off, then come back. Its getting annoying.

Yes...alot of ppl experience it. There is a TSB for it. Just take it to Nissan and they will get you a new Bose Radio

Nah....Just ask them for a replacement and explain the problem and that you read online that there is a TSB for it.

Good luck with it

Nomotive : Look on the flap where your cassette tape goes in, right beside "Bose" there will be model # you probably have CR070, the CR 260's are supposed to be the ones that are OK. At least thats what they gave me when I took mine in for the CD player was always skipping. Just for the record the Nissan dealer here in Cincinnati was great and asked no questions and was at the dealer for exactly one hour waiting for installation, not bad. The CR260 has been flawless for almost a year now.

I've had nothing but problems with the 6disc in dash bose - i got my max in may 03 and i've had 6 "new" (remanufactured) head units installed. My CD player wont play cds if its really cold out, and i had the same prob once w/ the left side cut-out. Still tryin to get them to give me a better radio. Is it possible to put a factory navi system in an 03 max that came w/ the bose?

ok check this out...a little while back i have had the same problem....but i realized that it wasnt the speakers....it was the cds/songs i was playing....certain songs have a tendency to have all there bass to the left speaker while everything else is to the right....mess wit ur balance a bit and send it all the way to the left or all the way to the right...wait i forget if its balancer or fader but ull get what i mean...ok so if that is the case then try different cds perferably not rap ones or burned cds bc they have a tendency to focus all of the bass to the left.....so try a different one...one cd i have had the instruments on the left and just the vocals on the right so i know it wasnt my speakers....so try it out with a bunch of cds/ songs and if it works then ull know it isnt f'ed up

i just had this problem fixed on wednesday. no hassle at all, they just ordered me another one and threw it in for me. they even called me to let mw know the car was ready, how real is that?? Nissan must be trying to improve their garbage customer service. oh yeah until u can get it fixed, whenever the left speaker goes out, just punch the screen a few times and it will come back on hahahaha a little trick i learned out of frustration

Honestly, the song cd theory is for retards. That isnt the issue. It is a clear fact that the headunits are **** from bose. The outcome you are talking about is normal for many songs. Cutting out is a different story.

Thanks, try again.

It's not the songs or the cd's...the faulty HU is responsible for the speakers cutting out....

I play CD-Rs and original CDs (not always rap) and the problem is persistent...

It's definetly the headunit because every cd I put in now, no sound on the left side. It started to happen with mine a couple of weeks ago but stopped. Now it doesn't even fade in and out,the left side is just out while playing cds.I am going in for a new unit next week.

I just had my third cd player installed yesterday because of this problem. Today, the left speakers cut out AGAIN. This is getting extremely annoying.

What model #'s do ya'll have!? If you have a CR260 you should be fine, the CR 070 is the problematic model.

its deffinetly the HU. itsa known TSB for left speakers cut out during CD play.
while this is happening switch to radio.. u'll see all speakers are working fine. as soon as u go back to CD mode. here comes the crappy sound again..hehe

BTW: Nissan customer care sucks *ss.
i went in for the Data Dot recall. and mentioned my problem with the radio.
he was so nice tells me. "No problem we'll order the radio for you and call you when it gets here." GREAT! 2 weeks later i call the dealer. he picks up the phone... and "Radio? what radio?" RRRRRRRRRRRRR so now i had to take the car back to the dealer. waste more time. i got ****ed and baught me a Pionneer aftermarket HU. bose sucks anyway.

Well I dropped by the dealership and the service rep told me they'd check out whether its the speaker or actual deck that is at fault. Since they were backed up with cars for service I'll have to leave it with them later today (8AM).

I've had multiple CDs in the player and they've all had problems. My entire RATM collection which is burned will have the speaker issue along with Beastie Boys Ill Communication which is original, not to mention various other CDs.

I checked the flap and its CR070.

I like the fact that it's an IN-DASH cd changer, which is nearly impossible to find in the aftermarket. Did you find one?

Get that 070 replaced with the 260 and that should solve the problem. The Bose (clarion) really is a good stereo.
