Damn...need new windshield

Well, because of this lovely snow we had here in NJ, a small chip on my windshield decided to spread into a nice crack from one side of the car to the other. Anyone know an approximate cost to replace a windshield on 2K max? Thanks.

Just call glass companies in your area. They will tell you up front and most will come switch it out while you are at work.

Check with your insurance company first. Most policies have $0 deductible for glass. Mine does, and the windshield was free. If your paying, it's gonna be a few hundred at least.

That's the answer i was hoping for. I'll call my agent this afternoon. This shouldn't affect my rates, right?

I can't imagine that it would. Replacing things like this prevents bigger problems down the road...

Mine was 265 total. The guy charged 20 bucks to install it. So the windshield costed 245. There's 2 kinds of windshields, one is a higher quality then the other. Cheaper quality is only 150.
