leatherseats.com vs OEM

Has anyone dealt with leatherseats.com? I was wondering how they look. I am buying a 02-03 max in the near future and have been looking at alot of cloth interiors. I am looking at putting leatherseats.com leather in, will it look OEM if I get the single tone? Thanks for the help.

I am not sure, but I think you will not get some options with cloth that you would have gotten with oem leather. For instance, I looked at a 2k2 se with cloth seats and the sunroof switch had to be held to open the sunroof. My GLE 2k3 has a slide position switch that is slide and forget. Take a look around.

All 02-03 Maximas have the same sunroof switch. No need to hold it down. As far as leather goes, leatherseats.com leather is great....

Do they do a leather with a suede insert? You know, bolsters in leather and the seat and backing in something like alcantara ( i think thats the right spelling) ?

Has anyone seen both of them...or installed the leatherseats.com ones. Are they hard to install?

I highly recommend leatherseats.com. they do excellent work and the leather will look 100 times better than stock. I've seen some of their work. The suede inserts look awesome too, if that interests you. I'm planning on getting new leather from them when I get back from this deployment. Can't wait. If you don't have heated seats, and want them, you can get those too.

All I can say is that I have a fully loaded 2k2 with all options, and I sat in ASU173's car, and he has custom leather, and its 5 times better than what Nissan sold me !

What are you talking about? I have an 01, yeah its cloth but I dont gotta hold the damn button down. One touch...both ways anyway...

Asu174 has custom two tone Katzkin leather. It looks NIIICE. I personally like it better then the OEM leather. It can be had for 600ish so its not too bad. Install is another 400 I belive so your looking at 1K. Might as well toss in some messagers while your at it Im personally going with katzkin sometime in the fall of 04.

As far as heated, yeah its an option as are power messagers. What im really wondering is if its possible to change the foam of the seat out to something...more lazboy like. That way you kinda melt into the seat when you cruise around.

Leatherseats.com leather is far superior to OEM. Installing of Leather isn't that hard if you have the right tools and have a lot of time. Mine took about 2 days, 4 hours each day with a friends help.

Click my homepage for pics of Katzkin....

Yes, the quality is 10,000 times better than stock. Actually, we have high end leather sofas in our house and I still think the Katzkin leather is nicer.

i agree...eventhough the aftermarket is nicer quality(read..MUCH MUCH nicer) then the OEM seats..the OEM fit 100% perfect..and the aftermarket doesnt fit quite perfect...you could tell that the seams dont fit perfectly..i have yet to see an aftermarket leather kit that fits as good as the OEM leather

i really cant say one thing that stands out, it just looks cheaper then the oem leather. i dont like the tight look of the leather needs to have some folds and looseness to it. but for everyman his own

Mine is flawless. I had it professionally installed though, so that might be the difference. The leather in my old 2K Max feels like cheap vinyl compared to Katzkin leather.

fitment couldnt be better. At first I thought the fitment sucked when I was installing it myself, but did more reading about application and learned I wasn't heating the leather or stretching it properly. After that, it took some pulling and tugging, but i couldnt be happier.

I got the massagers and heat too

Is that Katskin or Leatherseats.com? Where did you get the heaters and massagers?

although yours looks better then most i've seen...it still doesnt look like a 100% fit around the headrests and the top pillow on the drivers seat.

that's the ONLY thing the factory leather has going for it, flawless fit...other then that it sucks...i am wishing i didnt get the leather at all

Igor- $1000 installed

Jeepik- Those pics were taken the day I got it installed and the leather had no "settle" yet. The wrinkle on the drivers seat is 90% gone and the headrests are pretty much perfect.

Day of install:

Here's my Leatherseats kit in my 4th gen (black/charcoal center). Installed it myself and the quality/fee/grip is lightyears ahead of OEM. BTW, the leather is nearly 2 years old in these pics. People can't believe I was the one that installed it.
