Anything is possible, but I would say the odds of it working are small.
Timing and injector pulsewidth is a key element stored in our ECU. Usually stored as 16x1 (x,y), 16 valued map size, and a multiplier of 50. There are also a parallel maps for timing and TP scales.
Basically, our ECU computes the load via the primary load sensor, the MAF and modulates the injector pulsewidth accordingly. This is a simplified overview of what happens but you should already see how tightly correlated and dependent the timing and ignition is on the ECU. If you offload timing and ignition to this box it would have to be able to make similar decisions as our ECU.

well ima going to give it a shot this weekend, and if anything ill give it back to its owner. another thing wouldnt the box that im adding just increase the size of the aprk being put into the motor?

wow, being a fairly smart guy, and knowing a good general overview of cars, i can almost always understand anything that's said on here. But in almost three years, this is the first post that ever made me just go, "Huh"?
