What was the coolest feature added on '02-'03 Max?

Just curious to see what features drew people to the '02-'03's...

Oh, this is a new poll that ALLOWS MULTIPLE CHOICES as an option. Since the 3.5 was the hands down winner in the previous post, I thought this would give a better feel for what features really drew people!

Yeah, I wanted to throw it in there too, but poll's are limited to 10 options. That would have been #11. Followed by one touch s/r, new gauges, etc.

Gotta say the HIDs were very special, but that power/torque increase with the 3.5 VQ was the major reason to get it...along with the 6-speed manual.

Although the gleam of the HID's sparked my interest even more...it was the 3.5 that brought me in the door.

If there's any doubt about the VQ35DE being the coolest feature, just compare the straightline performance of the automatic 5G versus the 5.5G.

Fortunately its not that easy to jack my engine.... IMHO its a tie between the HIDs and the engine....But I guess the VQ design/reliability/power take the cake in the end....

I don't think there is any doubt about the VQ35DE being the coolest feature... especially in the eyes of those who don't have it

I think that the best feature on the Maxima are the windows. I like the fact that you can roll them up and down with the key and Down with the remote!

the only things nissan didn't make as option is reverse turning passenger miror and folding mirrors for thoose tight squeeze. that would make the max perfect.

3.5 + 6Spd + HSLD is what drew me to the car. Yeah, the HIDs are nice too!

The mirrors fold both ways. Drive carelessly into your garage just once...you'll see.

I discovered that during a battle with a truck, all I had to do is reach out and correct the mirror that was bent, came out with a small barely noticable scratch...great mirrors on this car

3.5 and 6-speed go together hand and hand, like 3.0 and 5-speed, should have been one category I think

I aready did 2 times. I sand out the scratch with 3m fine sand paper and buff it out with 3m rubbing compound.it came out perfect

The engine first and foremost. When I purchased my max in september of 02, the 350z's were just coming out. But up until that point, the 3.5 maxima was the fastest and sportiest car that nissan offered. I was also drawn to all of the features the max offered as "standard features". Nothing else could compare for me.

Oh yea, HID's are awesome!!

When I was shopping for a new car, the only two I considered were the 2001 Max and the 2001 TL. I'm ashamed to say that I was sold on the TL, because I was not completely impressed with the 3.0 and 5 speed. When I heard the Max was coming in 3.5 and 6 speed form, I waited six extra months for their availability and got the first 6 speed in NJ (well that's what the dealer told me anyway).

You should have put a "all of the above" option for your poll. Coming from a 2000, I'd say the engine is first and foremost. Having navigation is a close runner-up for me. Can't beat have your Max giving you directions in a FEMALE voice!

It would have to be the look. Classy, yet sporty. The HID's helped too.

having 3 maximas in the past, the engine really caught my eye, and then the HID's just drove me off the charts. I still remember the way me and my dad looked at each other after test driving it, i knew in a couple hours it'd be 4 maximas

Yo guys, the poll read coolest feature ADDED. HIDs and the VQ35 are standard. who wrote the heading for this poll??

that being said, HLSD rocks!!! no torque steer!! traction x 2 = OM effing G!!!

Also, the auto dimming rear view mirror is the best thing since sliced bread.

I couldn't care less about HIDs. I have another car I split my driving with, which has halogens, I can see a difference of course!, but do I notice it when I switch cars?...am I like Damn, wish I had HIDs when I'm in the halogen car??? he11 no!!! it was a novelty. besdies, I live in the boonies and the halogens reach further out without blinding others. Since I'm courteous and will not raise my HIDs, advanatage = halogen in dark areas.

My heated seats, heated steering wheel, bose, metal pedals which I never see, and shiny door sills are just all fru fru. My wife digs it tho...
