:help: Help me!!! Suspension!!! :help:

Hey, guys....just wanna start out with that all of you been good supporters and critics and true Maxima lovers . You've helped me out a lot before too....but now i need ur help and opinion. I own 2001 Maxima SE 20th Anniversary Edition, and couple of days ago the suspesion on the car gave up on me....basically i need whole works: new struts, new springs and new tires. My parents are thinking about selling the car, but i don't want to. Does it worth it to fix it up good and keep it, or just fix it up and sell it? I just don't know what to do, i love the car and everything about it....just wanna know your opinion....also if i fix it, these are the parts that i'm thinkin about buying these springs Maxspeed Lowering Springs and these struts Nissan Maxima Stuts (00-02). Tell me what u think about those parts too...or if u know of any other better parts for cheap price....thank you.

Thanks a lot to everyone who answers.

bro.. i say keep it...
i have the same exact setup onmy 2k1....
the handeling improved and the car looks nicer ... the drop is perfect not too low but low enough...
and the ride comfort is like stock but a little stiffer
i say go for it

What the hell are you tripping about? So the suspension took a crap big deal! Your parents are considering selling the car for that reason!?!

Fix it and stop worrying so much, thats all there is to it.

Get some new struts & springs, end of story

How low do you want to go anyway? The maxspeeds have a minimal drop but are still comfy. Teins will drop 2.2/1.6 and it just looks/handles better but the ride is a bit harsh at 1st.

If your not trying to drop is a considerable amount, then you'll be just fine with the maxspeeds. An inch or so (1.3 I belive) is all it will drop the ride. If you want struts to go along with that while still maintaining comfort, Id suggest the KYB-GR2. Cost wise both those springs & struts will set you back about $400ish. If & when you go to get them installed, you will probably get a few quotes around the $250-300 mark for the install. Forget those, dont pay a dollar more then $150 for the install.

What HitManSE said...... why sell the car when you can fix the suspension problem with less than $500?

KYB GR-2 --- $280
Tein H-tech --- $190

Definately fix it and keep it. Things like that happen, a new suspension will deepen your love for the car.

You can make a new username, OR pay some money to keep your post count and change name.

I have been rolling on the Maxspeed springs/tokico struts combo for a year and I still love it. Best drop for the money and for my desires.

hey come on give him a brake, im sure he didnt go through the posts an was like
"oh $hit thats name is cool, i'm a copy it "

just a curiosity since maxspeeds are cheap as hell, arent they more prone to breaking down or having $hit happen to 'em???

Maxspeeds are basically H&R knockoffs. They do the same job for less cost it doesnt make them bad though.

As for the SN thing, im not gonna give any1 much **** about it. Im still the 1 & only.

HitmanAngel2k3: You'll be happy with that setup, compared to stock its a day & night diff. You wont reget fixing it over selling the car.

Either "maxed up" or "soundmike". ****, I can't remember who sells the KYB GR-2, but it's gotta be one of them. Not to mention both are reputable in selling great stuffs at great prices to the .org community.
