New LeftCoast Tuning Headlight Eyelids V2 For 2K2-2K3

Ok, so here is the much anticipated headlight eyelid. This is a fiberglass prototype which is basically ready for production. It's just painted white, not paint-matched.

I'm quite proud of what we have produced here, based on the input on the original eyelids. It's a much more subtle piece than the 1st version, but retains a bit of an agressive look to it.

CLICK HERE for full pics and details.

Here's a teaser (don't mind the dirty car or cracked foglight):

...look at the time of this post...hard at work for YOU!

I LIKE IT!! The only thing I don't know if I really like is the part by the marker light (clear upper lense), it doesn't look like it "flows" right. Kinda looks like it curves down and then around the headlight.

If you decide to make the curve more smooth or not, COUNT ME IN!!!!!

Where do I send the money to?

I think I know what you're referring to. The outer edges of the eyelids are a tiny bit loose because these prototypes do not have an adhesive backing. The final product will have a strong adhesive. It is also designed to wrap around the top of the headlight (under the hood) which you can see in other pics through above link.

As far as the "curve" it was designed that way on purpose to look best from all angles. A completely straight line would a.) look very boring, and b.) doesn't look all that good from all angles.

Sorry LeftCoast but I don't like them. This is what I was thinking of.
Simple and straight with a hint of agressiveness.

Very Nice! I like them My Max is Titanium and I have a bug deflector that is black. The eyelids in black would continue the contrast effect the bug deflector creates.

How much painted?

Hate to say it, but the one on the left looks way better. Get rid of that "point" & make it straight, it may be "boring", but it's what looks best IMO -- will buy if something like that can be made.

Just to let you know LeftCoast, the one on the left that I photoshopped is actually tapered to the inside. Similar to this but not as noticable.

make it like that IS300 eyelid... and i'll buy one as soon as they're available... i think it'll look just as good as the lexus... since our headlight housing shapes are pretty similar

The taper on the IS300 eyelids is too aggressive. It would cover up the clearance lights (unless a cutout was made) and might alter light output from the HID's.

Some modification will need to be made. The light on a 2k 2k1 has a little bulge from the corner/clearance. The 2k2 2k3 HIDs are smooth all the way around.

The link has been revised. These are designed to fit 02-03's perfectly. While the 00-01 headlight shape is the same, it has a dip/bulge which means these will not fit perfectly. They might fit if someone were to try and modify it themselves a bit...

It's true that the 5th gen Maxima headlight shape is similar to that of the IS300. We reviewed several styles of eyelids for the IS300 to stimulate our ideas. Believe me that we've taken them into alot of consideration.

I'm not going to go into too much detail, but the size and shape of the IS300 headlights and the lines of that car VS. the Maxima is still pretty different. The completely straight design does NOT look that great from all angles, especially at the outer sides, which is the tricky part. Also, we're trying to stay away from having any sharp points for durability and safety reasons.

Whether you get the Paintable Fiberglass OR the Carbon Fiber, you could always dremel/sand it down to whatever shape you like best.
