Is there a difference between 2k-2k1 Brakes and 2k2+

I just got my car back from the dealership today and I noticed that on the key ring label it says 2k1 Maxima then my name. Now what makes this funny is I have a 2k2. They just put all new rotors/pads/caliper hardware on my car. A huge bill which they ended up paying for most of it. But...if I remember correctly there is a major difference between 2k1 and 2k2 rotors. Am I correct about this? And if so what should I do? The car seems to stop ok. I do need to give it more of the brakes to get it to stop though. Any thoughts on this would be great!

There is a difference

I would check the part #'s and then see if they put the right or wrong part on. You think the tech would know the difference between a 2k-2k1 and 2k2-2k3.

I'm sure there is a difference. I just checked the GD going on and they dont offer the Brembo Blanks for the 2k2+. This more or less sums up that there is a difference of some sort. I just need to know what that is. Oh and I should mention that this was a FORD dealer not Nissan. I work here and they messed up the brakes to begin with so they fixed them for next to nothing.

how can you be "Nissan Master Tec" and not know there is a difference?

some anecdotal evidence
Hamy noticed the GD difference, and the 15" steelies that fit on my friend's 2k1 DID NOT clear the calipers on my 2k2

the fronts are definitely different, I didn't bother putting the back 15" wheels on once I realized the fronts wouldn't fit.

I'd go back and demand OEM for a 2k2.

So is this something I need to go in and b!tch about? I just got more or less a free brake job. But I dont want this to end up messing things up in the long run. Oh and thanks Mick I really was in a mess with the brakes there for a while, but the owner of the company went ahead and paid for all the labor and every part other than the pads. I couldn't be more happy untill I found out about this crap.

They are definitely not the same and are not interchangeable for the fronts at least.

why do people repeat the same things over and over?

There is no need for 7 people to agree lol, one or two is enough

There is a difference. There was even a thread that showed the difference in the 2k2,2000, and a 97 i think. It was some 4th gen. But they were all pretty different.

Nissan brakes still blow no matter WHAT size they are.

Actually, this is just the kind of response I would expect from a Nissan Tech....the wrong response (I can almost see my service advisor saying the same type of crap)

That helps me a lot

I thought the 5gen were all the same

That means I need to go back to work to make some new rotors.

For the 03 and the gen 6
