The one that got away
DAMN!
I was soooo close to trading in my Max. for its evil twin.
The deal: My Sterling Mist AE Auto w/cloth, 7K miles for a used Sterling Mist AE FIVE SPEED plus Bose, Meridian (seat warmers) and 7K miles.
Got them down to $600 after my trade-in.
Somebody came in and made them a better offer while I was trying to finance. I’m kinda bummed… I think a 5-Speed is the best mod I could hope for.
Oh, well…

Thats one thing i do not like about dealers. When you pick out the car they need to let you have your chance at it since YOU saw it first. And that would be the last time i went to that dealer.

regardless
Regardless of business ethics, you should have just put a small deposit (most accept like $100). This way you had in writing (and receipt) that the car is YOURS unless something unforeseen happens...which YOU have to tell them before they can go and offer the car to someone else. This way if you REALLY want the car, they can't do anything and have to offer you the same car at the same price. Just my opinion because it happened to me with my first car and it bit them in the butt because they ended up having to give me a better car than the one I had gotten because they didn't have anything comparable in stock, for the same price.

I had my eye on this sweet AK, but had to wait the ten-day waiting period. Meanwhile, some jerkoff in a Sterling Mist AE w/5-speed pulls up and offers them $1,000 more for it.
I knew I should've put a deposit on that gun.
