Dyno/HP Question
Dyno/HP Question
OK, i've read the thread that talks about the dyno results for our cars. If i recall correctly, nissan advertised 2k2 with 255HP. I went to a dynojet yesterday and "Ole Brit" layed down a first run of 194.4 HP & 214.1 torque. Second run was 197.4 HP & 214.2 torque.
While i see that these are good numbers, i was a bit confused. How can there be so much loss from the crank to the wheels?
Also, on the dyno sticky i read that most guys were getting 170ish and 180ish. I assumed they had 2k1 and 2k and that 2k2 had more power than then did as 2k3 had more than 2k2. Right?

The shared knowledge here on the org is that Nissan lied about the hp ratings on 02-03's. They really have 240-245 hp. The good news is that they have about an extra 20 lbs of torque.
The 00-01's were rated at 222 hp.
The 00-01's were rated at 222 hp.

be nice if Nissan just told us that to begin with, oh well! Torque is cool
