Installed Polarg M-4's tonight. Not real happy with the match. They're clearly more purple than the HID's. After a lot of searching on the forum I've seen others use PIAA extreme white (which also aren't a perfect match), and Raybrig R130's - The one pic I saw of these looked great, but was a low quality...

Here are my results with the M4's. No doubt a great improvement, but considering the Super Plasma H3's I just installed match perfect, I was hoping for more.

Any suggestions, or better yet pictures, would be great!

Housecor, seems like u can read my mind. I installed all polarg m4 around my car, the sides look awesome with the m4s but the front looks weird.. I have stock HIDS, PIAA xtreme whites (super plasmas are backordered but coming), and the Polarg m4 in the front.... they look weird. Not really smooth... but it does look nice when im shiny it into a 1993 CRicey Civic Hatchback who wanted to race me last night. hahaha

Yeah, I'm happy with mine too when my HIDs aren't on!

Pics of alternative clearance bulbs with your HIDs on for comparison anyone?

the PIAA LED's are a waste of $$. I had them in my clearance lights and it looked really weak and the color looked purplish. I just decided to install then in my corners & go for a traditional bulb style -- Raybrig. Even that looks yellowish compared to the HIDs, but I sick of spending $ on bulbs just to match the HIDs.

Did you use the Raybring R130? Maximax2 used these and the pics look pretty good.

Yeh I have the R130s, pics can be deceiving esp. with how white a bulb's output is. If you look carefully at those pics Maximax2 has, it does look yellowish compared to the HIDs. In person, that yellow look is more pronounced and by no means matches the color of our low beams.

I had the same problem - installed PIAA Xtremes and they're too blue. So I now have the Raybrig bulbs in, which are better and brighter but not blue enough (sigh...). Pics on my home page.

Also tried orange bulbs for a while, which actually may look best considering it's probably impossible to get a 5W bulb to match the HID lights...

Well, judging by the responses, I may just hold on to my M-4's. I'd rather have a bulb that's a little too purple than a little yellow (PIAA extreme white). Just my preference.

And yeah, a 5w bulb that matches the HIDs sounds like a tall order, but we're really just talking about color here, not brightness. Color shouldn't be that hard to match...it just appears no one is manufacturing a 5w wedge that happens to. Sigh...

I believe I got the first one on the list (194)... they look very close to the headlights and they're only $6 + about $2 shipping.

this is my car... bad picture but it shows how close the color is.

NO.
The Polargs DO NOT MATCH.
They are close but not perfect.
I was happy with my polargs before I got my piaa super plasma fogs.
Now the polargs stick out and actually look yellowish compared to the HIDs and Fogs. And another thing I bought my sidemarker polargs after I bought the clearance polargs and I noticed that the blueish tint has faded from the polargs.
Because the new ones I just got look close to the HIDs the ones that have been there for 5 months don't.

Just got some PIAA Super Plasma's to replace the PIAA Xtreme White's which are too blue. Hopefully they are better. Will be installing them today and see how they compare.

Here is a pick of my Piaa Xtreme White wedge bulbs. They are a tad bit on the blue side compared to the HID's. Much better looking than stock though!

I think that better looking than stock is all that we are every looking for. I still have stock fogs and clearance. I will be going with Xtreme Whites for highs, fogs, and clearance.

I have the polargs, but I ran into this site yesterday and decided to give these LEDS a try at www.superbrightleds.com

PRoduct Description:

WLED-W4 White LED bulb
12VDC White 4-LED Wedge Base Bulb (194/168 type) Polarized
$ 2.59

I bought these for 2.59x2 plus 5 dollar shipping.
They might not be polarg hyper whites, or PIAA xtreme whites, but hopefully these might match..... crossed fingers

After looking at the pic you're right - The PIAA's look great - I may prefer them to the Polargs...Wish I could compare in person.

Polargs are pretty good IMO. Much better than many others and 10x better than the brown stock parking lights!
