Replacment Front Rotors????
Replacment Front Rotors????
I have a 2001 Maxima SE with 44,000+ miles. My front rotors are warped I tried doing a search but the search is disabled. What do you guys recommend for replacment rotors. If I go with Nissan OEM I don't want to have this problem again. Are there any aftermarket rotors not too expensive cost about the same and that will work better than Nissan OEM???? THanks for any help.

You should check out this thread for rotors.

I think 44k on any set of rotors is actually really good. TO get 12k out of a cut is a lot IMHO.
I was warping rotors every 6k on '95 Talon TSi, it was insane. I went through about 10 cuts and 2 OEM rotors, in 90k. Now THAT'S a problem.
I finally tried Brembo blanks and those warped too quicly as well (wihin 6k).
My last resort was to do a big brake upgrade on the car (went from 11" to 13" rotors). The kit I bought came with powerslots, I didn't want them but had no choice in the rotor that the kit came with.
I also put on SS lines, dual piston calipers and decent cold stopping pads.
I haven't had a problem since, it's been over 30k on the same rotors and no sign of warping, so I'm really happy with the PowerSLots.
But I can't be sure if that's because of te pwoerslots or because I went to a bigger rotor.
THe best part about the powerslots is they are coated, so they don't rust on the hat or vents, they look clean through my rims. The Brembos rusted up completely on the hat and vents within weeks.

Who has had good luck with the brembo disc brakes???? Should I go brembo or powerslot????? Powerslots are twice the Brembos....and this car is just a daily driver for my wife....don't need anything fancy just somthing that will last 30-60K miles more...
Been VERY happy with the zinc-plated and slotted brembos on the fronts....since I don't drive the car very hard, race it, etc. I couldn't see spending double the cost on the Powerslots. I suggest you make the same judgement call for yourself and save some money if applicable.
the brembo replacements are much better than the stock. they have better cooling, but if the reason the rotors keep warping is because you are too hard on the brakes, then your gonna have the same problem with any replacement that doesn't increase rotor dimensions.
