Shift knob

Shift ****
I got the AE shift **** for christmas and I was trying to put it on. But I couldn't get the stock one off. I tried pulling it off and I tried to unscrew it, but no luck. I'll admit, I am weak and scrony. Am I just not putting enough force behind it? Is there an easy way for weak people to do it?

I did this over the summer and my **** would not twist off no matter how hard I tried.
I ended up having to cut off the ****. I went at it with a knife. It took FOREVER and i cut my hand it the process. But in the end, the AE **** was well worth it.
Good luck.

Lol this is no 1 man matter! Me and my dad tried it for about 1 hr!! Finally we got it. Take a rag if u dont want 2 ruin the **** and then a pair of vise grips and clap it on that sucka. LOL Now 1 grab the vise grips and the other hold the shifter and twist with everything you got. I think its got industrial strenght lock tight. Its insane. But its just threaded on there. It can be done we did it.

but try this: get a cloth and a pipe wrench(or anything that grips strong) and turn it. if that doesn't work...oh well, time to bust out the saw...

When I did mine, I tried the vise grips with the rag, but it didn't work. It kept turning the leather covering and not the whole **** itself. After that I ended up scratching up the leather on the **** anyway, so I just cut it all off.
