Warpspeed B

Just thought I'd give you guys a heads up in case you're interested.

I just ordered a 2.5" W/s B-pipe for my '03 Max. Normal price is $170, but Dallas over at W/s informed me that they're on sale right now for $145. So, including shipping, I paid $170 total.

Can't wait till it gets here so I can install that and my Cattman Y.

I have it, since I live in Southern Cali and it doesnt rain or snow here.....But the fitment on it was a POS. I had to have work done to it , so it would fit properly. You get what you pay for.

Really? I specifically asked Dallas about fitment issues and he said it bolts right in...no problems. I know a guy on the org who got one recently and he had no problems with the b-pipe...the w/s y-pipe is a different story. I hope it works out.

I had to have it welded at the ends, and the part that goes over the rear hump, rubs up against the top of my Max.....I really cant recommend it , even though I have it on my Max.

Just make sure whatever you get, that its MANDREL BENT ! There is no point in getting a crush bent pipe.

Damn that sucks kloogy. I hope my b-pipe doesn't turn out that way. Other than the fitment issues though, do you think it's worth it...a B-pipe in general I mean. I was planning on getting the Cattman B-pipe...but I think it's like $275. I'm not that concerned about it not being stainless steel cause I don't really plan on keeping my Max for more than another 3 years anyway.

I really hope the Y & B combo is worth it.

I paid only $100 for my b-pipe... you can go to your muffler shop and ask them about b-pipe!!!

I like mine

I had a WSP 2.5" with resonator installed in Dec of 2002 and have not had any problems at all. I had no fitment issues and am going through my second winter here in Mass and don't see any signs of rusting. I had a local muffler shop install it, they charged $50 and were done in about 20 minutes.

Sounds good!!
I was trying to find a muffler shop to install my Y-pipe and maybe the B-pipe when I receive it. Unfortunately, a lot of the national muffler chains, at least here in Maryland, won't touch an aftermarket part.

Anyway, how do you like the performance of it?
Do you have a Y-pipe too?

Thanks

I actually agree with you. They need some adjusting of hangers etc.. The damn muffler would bang or the pipe would bang on the back cross piece or something else. PITA to get perfect.

True but the bends are find a hell of a lot better than the stock with the crimp in it.

i had a lot of banging and clunking, very annoying. I had work done by the muffler shop and it wouldnt go away. I tried another muffler shop and they had to do some welding, clunking is gone now.

Turns out I could have purchased a whole catback for less than what i spent.
You get what you pay for...

Im sure you are. Im not debating that. We are discussing maximum performance. Your setup does not meet that standard. A crush bent exhaust is not something you see on performance cars. The object is to acheive the smoothest flowing exhaust , you can get. I wouldnt pay 2 bucks for a crush bent pipe. Might as well keep the stock Nissan one, which is not bad, for stock !
