Wrapping a Y-Pipe

I have a Stillen Y-pipe on my 2k SE (Cali-spec) with the rest of the OEM exhaust. How much quieter will the exhaust be if I wrap the Y-pipe with header wrap and how durable is it? Will it fall off after a year and require rewrapping?

I have used the header type wrap on a different application a year ago. I wrapped my snowmobile triple pipes. They did quiet them down 10-20%. But these are loud racing pipes. On a y pipe I think it is too far away for heat retention but it may help a little if you think your y pipe is generating noise.
Helpful hint us that wrap clamp or regular hose clamps about evert 8-10 inches.
