Why does Nissan use unpopular sizes, like wipers and wheel sizes?

I cannot find a replacement wiper for the driver side. The blade is 25.5 inches long. I'll take 25 or 26. Every website I visit tries to sell me a 24. I want the full windshield to be clean. I guess I'll have to go to the dealer for this. The passenger size is very common, 17".

Update: On the Anco website there is an annoucement that they make a new 26" wiper blade for "newer models including Nissan Maxima and some recreational vehichles." Problem is... I can't find anyone that stocks it yet.

No one has 26inch wipers. Its either 24 or 28. but I got the one from the dealer. $15 for the blade. $10 for refill. I got the refill b/c they didn't have the blade in stock. Snow storm my damn blade riped. O well Good luck.

Same here. My one blade got turn from snow/slush last week. I spent a few hours running around today. I landed up getting 2 driver-side refills from the dealer. I used a 20% discount coupon. I think it cost around 10 bucks a piece. I got the Anco Aerovantage 17" blades ($7 for the entire blade) for the passenger side. The 26" Anco exists, but no one has it in stock yet. While I was at it, I got replacement blades for my wife's Taurus.

Can't we just get 28 and CUT it???

I think it would. If you can find the 28 refill size, you could cut the end that doesn't click in.
