Body colored HID housings..like the 575M. Possible?

You know how the Ferarri 575 and the C6 Vette have colormatching housings around their lenses? That looks slick to me and I would love to see a Max with a similar setup. Can anybody photoshop what I'm talking about? I hope I am explaining it well enough. Since the 5.5 gens have such nice headlight clusters I think it would really set it off.

If I was any good on Photoshop I would do it but I'd rather see it done by somebody with some experience. I know it will look great.

I'm thinking of doing the body color to my HIDs for a while now.

I think Flat Black will be better!

It shouldn't be that expensive, try a body shop, they should mix some for you. When you do, let me know how much. I'd like to broze mine like the AE, just scared to open or damage the headlights, cash is kinda tight right now. Chris

A question for the guys who painted theirs black, did you use a gloss black or a flat black. I dont know which to use that would best match my black car.

Yea, i'm with you....i want to do it, but want to see what white would look like. Black blends in, it's subtle...but white will definately stand out. Also, you don't think painting the housing would affect the light pattern from the HID's do you?

i never ended up doing this. the headlight that you see pictures above was the original headlight that was sent out for the first angel eyes. he took that headlight and used it as his prototype, so it's prolly chopped to bits right now.

secondly, car looked too aggressive for my tastes. silver looks classy.

thirdly, if you do this, i prefer a flat black rather than glossy black. imagine 2 different colors, both shining....that's tacky. if it's the same color, then match it with glossyness. if it's 2 different colors, then make the headlights flat so that only the body bling blings. the only other color that you may get away with is white, since it's such a contrast.

you may disagree with me, but after doing it, that's what i feel is best.

I also like the stock silver/gunmetal color of the stock 02-03 heads/tails.

I was considering painting black with 00-01 SE tails, but I don't think I'm gonna go for that blacked out look.

I'm now debating having the inner housing paint-matched...

I'm also sort of debating whether I wanna paint the housings on mine or not..... I really need to see a black car with black housings in person to get a feel for what it looks like. Some pics of black cars with the black housings look good, but others it doesnt look right......I'm not sure what I wanna do....

PoLo, you are saying that if your car is black, you would use a gloss black or flat black?

I'm sorry... what I meant to say in my earlier post was my HIDs + cash and trade for yours. Would you reconsider? You can make some extra money.

If not, anyone else wanna trade?

I think the black on black is tight, and I'd do it. The issue is b/c my car is white...

black would be a better match with your black rims.
