maxima depression..

I need some reassurance here..My 01 max just seems like it has one problem after another. Lately I wish I just could get another car..as much as it kills me to say that, even though I have loved this car since the day I saw it and I havent even owned it a year. Whats the deal with 01 Max's and the SES (engine light) light? Do they malfunction all the time? First they replaced the O2 sensor, now they pulled the same code again and they hafta check the wire harnesses.. its just another pain after another..Anyone else in this boat or can sympathize or something? Yea im *****ing like a little girl, but I needed to vent it out..

If your problem winds up being electrical (beyond the harness itself), dump the car. Electrical problems are like cancer for cars.

Should you dump your Max and want something much more reliable, think Camry V6: it'll never have the performance of the Maxima (not to mention Accord or Passat) but it makes up for it in reliability and insurance costs (theft). Just my $.02

Same feeling here, problem after problem after problem. Tranny, Radio, Leaking Windows, Dead Regulators, and on and on and on. Sorry to hear it, like my buddy said. Its not Nissan, its the car, i've had 2 other Maxi's and they were perfect, don't get yourself down, they'll get it right and you'll be happy again. Chris

Both my 01 and my 03 have had the same problems, TSB and non TSB. I have at least a dozen things a year fixed. Non though, that keep me from driving my car.

yea u guys are right, it sucks most of the time, but all in all, i still love my max, love at first site i think, But i know its def. not nissan because my family has bought nothing but Nissans and never had problems like this, so just my fault for buyign a used car and getting someone else's headache.

I know what you guys are saying...my first car was a 1994 dodge interpid..drove that car till 2001 and put close to 120K miles on it..and believe or not...never did anything except an oil change!! I've had the Max for 6 months now and have gone in to the dealer almost 8 times and each time with 9 plus issues!!!!! I too love my Max but dont know if i can spend so much time on it!!!

That is very unusal for a car to have problem like that. Some of you guys may be right that it may be the car itself. I have a 2001 and bought it brand new the day it rolled off the truck. To this day I have almost 30k miles on it and I have not had any single problem at all. I suspect some of you guys either beat the living hell out of the car or modding the engine to screw up the ECU. I have seen people mod the engine and ended up screwing up the car.

I know how you feel buddy. Next time, I'm just going to lease a car. Won't ever have to worry about any problems with the car because the car won't even be mine. MUHAHAHAHAHA.

Anyways, My 2003 has already been in the dealer a total of 33 times and it's still at the dealer right now. I have more rattles then craters on the moon; sun roof leaks and they fixed it 3 times and it still leaks, rear window seals replaced 3 times, some sensors replaced in my engine when my car had 2000 miles, bose head unit replaced 5 times and it's still not working lol.
Yes yes, i've wasted a lot of time with the car. Can anyone beat a service work sheet of one and half inches thick? lol

i hav 2ea 2001 Maximas and have not had problem 1 with either (save the brake judder fixed with stillen X-Drilled rotors). One has 52,000 miles and the other has 47,000 miles. Both were bought new and have been cared for only by me.

I feel sorry for those of you having so many problems. I've only had to go to the dealership three times in 3+ years.
While I don't consider this car perfect it has been very reliable.

That sucks! I bought my 00 Max just over a year ago with 37k miles and other than an O2 sensor that needed replacing the only other issue has been the ignition coils. I'm at 64k now and absolutely no other problems with it.
