i have a 2001 AE with the bose syste
and when i turn the bass up, the the back of the car makes these vibrating noises that are really annoying, so i cant turn up the bass
that just cripples the woofer
does anyone experience that too?

yea certain frequencies really rattle in the trunk. Putting the trunk lid trim on helped the reverb a little, but it still rattles. I haven't found a solution yet.

Re: Me Too!

Everyone has this problem with the Bose woofer. I thought it was only my car at first until someone posted an earlier thread. If you want this problem to go away, then visit a stereo shop and have them take out the woofer, replace the rear deck, & get new subs or a box. Better yet......Get the whole trunk Dynomatted!!! It's may cost an arm and a leg but if you crave loud music, it's worth it.

Most of the times it happens to me when i put a song with a lot of bass and +5bass on the stereo. Its because of the very low frequency of the song that the subwoofer can make a clear sound. You need to lower the bass on the stereo.

There nothing much to do here, maybe to put something to make it stronger so it won't vibrate, but it's just the way the subwoofer is.

I have a 2001 SE with the bose stereo, and my sub also rattled. I found that most of the rattling came from the little ***** that you pull to put down the rear seats. I put a little piece of foam in each of them, and my car hardly ever rattles. Try it, and tell me if it works!
