aaaaaaahhhhh......potholes

I bent a rim on the BQE (Brooklyn Queens Expressway for those unfamiliar). No pics, just wanted to vent. I dodged one and ran smack into the middle of another. Thats what my lazy a ss gets for not switching back to stock for the winter. Oh well, looks like Ill be buying new ones this spring. Any recommendations? Chrome or silver doesnt matter.

ahh BQE?

yea, that place is f-cked.. i don't take my car to manhattan at all anymore..

i also refuse to get aftermarket wheels now.. my stock 17s have been through some rough crap and have not bent yet..

i don't think any aftermarket wheel can take NYC roads. Especially in a size 18" +

Stock rims can take some serious punishment...I've eaten two REALLY BAD potholes, the second of which blew out la front and bubbled a rear...needless to say, both wheels were just scuffed on the edge....Stock wheels and tires a the way to go in NYC....But its nice to have different shoes for those hot-P-I-M-P-days....

Let me guess, was it in the middle lane heading west btwn the Koscusco and Williamsburg Bridge? It's horrendous over there, I always stay on the left lane, a little better but not by much......

I was past that. I was at the roosevelt ave exit on my way to the BX. The Belt was worse. the left lane was better but i was shifting over to get out on Northern Blvd to get some gas.

Ive been on the BQE its bad. But here in Michigan its worse, the speed limit is 70 but everyone does 80+. They dont even fix potholes, if its bad enough they will put a huge steel plate over it and bolt it down. Now what happens to solid slick steel when it snows...danger Will Robinson

That sucks bro....I was in baltimore when I had my SPEC V right after the bad snow storm last year, hit 2 potholes on my way home, bent both my front rims and my passenger low control arm. TOTAL: 540 x 2 for bent rims, 250?? + install of lower control arm, 2 new tires 150 x 2....it was crazy. I ended up getting aftermarket 18's after that, they got stolen after 6 weeks. my insurance company loves me.
