I've been thinking because I'm still pissed they're changing up the Max on us...Only in a perfect world if you trade in your 00' or 01' Max for the 2002 SE-R will you get an even trade-in...we all should expect to have to drop a few thousand extra to pay for the new car... Its the same body type so, all we would essentially be trading for is the engine (mainly). Here are some possibel alternatives. I'm trying to learn too so tell me what you guys think!
If its just the speed you want, why not just get a supercharger? That should make up the difference in speed should'nt it? The 5k you would spend on that should be about the same as what you would pay in difference if you bought a new 02' SE-R. Then you dont have to worry about, stripping down all the extras you already put into your 00' or 01' Max!!! (sytem, intake, y-pipe, das or aero-kit etc...)
Still no word on whether you could just buy the new engine and change it out and how much it would cost. I'm just PO'd that after all this work I've done to my 01' Max that in a few months it will be obsolete! I'm try to find a way out here BESIDES trading the whole car in. "HOLLA IF YA HEAR ME"!!!

Do a search and then just wait...

Nobody knows for sure what the Maxima will be in 2002. Do a search on this site and you'll see the many, many discussions that have been had on this topic. If you're trying to decide between a Supercharger and a 2002 SE-R, you might want to wait until there is even a 2002 SE-R to choose.

If you really want speed... why not strip the car and run a supercharger, turbo and 500 shot of NOS?

Disclaimer: This just might void the warranty on your car.

It would undoubtedly be less expensive to install a supercharger than to take the hit trading in your Max for a new SE-R. On the other hand, I'll take NA power over forced-induction any time. You can ALWAYS add forced induction to a NA engine at a later time. And keep in mind that installing a supercharger WILL void your warranty . . . no ifs, no ands, no buts.

I say wait for the new maxima. If you put the supercharger it will ruin your engine faster and cut your engine's life by almost a half.

Oh no here we go again.. which is better...

Wait for the 2002, it may not put out as much as a VQ30 + SC but you won't have the problematic V2 Vortec blower plus it will be easier to sell.

I am waiting for my dealer to get thier head out of thier a$$ so I can order a white 2002 SE-R, with a stick.

I love my stickbox!
