2k2+ Stillen Lip $175 shipped!!

Well to say the least I'm ****ed. I've been on a waiting list since Aug. for a 2k2+ Stillen Aero lip. I know I dont speak for myself because at least 20 more people if not more are on the same list. Its not PJ from MaxTunings fault at all...its just a bunch of **** that all adds up. Anyhow its now nearly Feb. and still no sign or date that this lip will be shipped to me. OK now to make matters worse!!! I find the same lip, for $175 shipped. I called and I can buy it today and have it here next week. Its made of ABS plastic and will fit the 2k2 perfectly! So not only have I waited months longer than I had to but now I paid MORE for it and WAITED! AHHHH OK I know you guys feel my pain, well maybe not but here is the link and info for those who want to buy the lip.

I was thinking the same thing. Trust me, a bumper that is made for the 2k-2k1 WILL NOT fit on a 2k2-2k3 - I tried to mod a stillen 2k front lip to fit on my 2k2 and it didn't work out so good.

I would double check with the company before you order.

I just e-mailed them. I will post their answer. I highly doubt this is for 02-03. It is a Stillen knockoff.

I called them at work today and the guy on the phone say it will fit my 2k2. Now naturally I probably knew more than him but it shouldn't be ruled out. Also..it is possible to get a 00-01 lip to fit the 2k2. So I think its more than possible to make a lip that fits both bumpers.

Nice find. Any volunteers? I would try it but I need a new bumper first.

Sounds a little suspect, but we'll see what they say. Their pic shows that it goes into the foglight hole, so I don't see how it could possibly fit all 4 years?

Made of ABS Plastic? IIRC, that's worse than Fiberglass for something as exposed as the lip.

It would probly look pretty nice on the car, but I also noticed right away that it says it fits 00-03 Maximas... that isnt too likely. I'd love to get that lip tho if it does fit 2k2 Max's!

I would bet my POS Maxima, that it wont fit a 2k2-3....most of these manufacturers have no clue...

Take it from someone that had actually tried to make a 2k lip fit on a 2k2 max.... it'll fit, but it'll look like CRAP. NO ONE would buy it. Trust me that there isn't a lip that will fit both cars and still look decent.

Aren't our bumpers made of ABS plastic? I've heard that ABS plastic would be better than polyurethane.

I know Emax would second that. He was the first one to try it.

IT WILL NOT WORK! Others before have tried and failed. They are claiming that they have ONE lip that fits both the 2k/2k1 and the 2k2/2k3. IMPOSSIBLE unless you put a 2k/2k1 bumper on your 2k2/2k3. Stop being so gullible.

Depends on what you use it for. ABS plastic is strong, but quite brittle compared to Polyurethane where you can bend it all the way around and it won't break. (to a point, but still far more than what plastic can do)

For example, hit a bumper at say 10mph and you'll either crack or punch a hole in it. Same speed on polyu would just scratch the paint or surface. (speeds are irrelevant, but you get the point)

This is soooooo inaccurate it's not even funny.

"Nissan changed the look of the Maxima at the end of the 03 model year.
So
technically the site should read 00-03.5. I put some links together of
some
Maximas I found on autotrader that it will fit so you can see if it
matches
yours.

03'-
http://autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.jsp?ca...or=&cardist=20

02'-
http://autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.jsp?ca...or=&cardist=14

00' -
http://autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.jsp?ca...or=&cardist=21

You'll notice the all share the same front lower bumper. And the lip
we
have bolts directly onto it.

My reply........

Although the side skirts and rear bumpers did not change between model years, I am 100% sure that the 00 bumper is different than the 02. Look at the fog lights and lower grill on both. The 02 bumper is a few inches longer in overall length because of this.

If you don't believe me, look at Stillen's site which have different part numbers and availability for front bumper LIP KITS on 00-01 and 02-02. The aero kit you are describing isn't even available on 02-03's and never will be- just the touring (fish gills) kit, but there are two part numbers between 00-01 and 02-03.

Don't get me wrong guys there is no doubt that I'm going to wait it out. I've waited this long whats a few more weeks. I just find it strange that this lip was out there the whole time without anyone knowing about it.

Andy, why are you even debating this with that fool. If he doesnt know the difference, he shouldnt be selling aftermarket parts.

I checked out the website that you posted, I think it's very sketchy with the lips that fits on all....I was thinking about getting a lip spoiler for my Max. I decided not to get that one cuz it's ABS since SoundMike has pointed out the difference with ABS and Polyurethane. BTW Soundmike, thanks, it was useful info to make a decision to buy a Polyurethane.
