Headers or Y pipe

I have a 2000 SE automatic and I want to get the most usable power thoughout the powerband.
Your feedback is appreciated...
Thanks,
Coen

I have a 2000 5 spd and have been debating cattman headers or just y pipe also. From what ive read, the general concensus is that the headers make you lose a small amount of low end power but you gain high end power. The y pipe would be a safer bet if you're looking for power 'throughout the powerband' as you say. However, if you ever plan on getting a turbo or s/c, definitely get the headers, because your hp gains from the headers when youre boosting are awesome. Hope this helps.

You can't have a turbo and the cattman or HotShot headers or any headers made for an NA set up....they use turbo manifolds.

YEP!! HE'S RIGHT

If you want to go turbo or supercharger later on, I would go for Y-Pipe but if you don't, go for headers.

In most states that I know of they are not legal......but either are tinted windows, aftermarket HID's, straight pipes.......

I have have passed inspection with my pipe though. It's not something I would worry about. Maybe if your in Cali??

lol yeah good point, didnt even think of that. I was thinking of what HNDA ETR said, saying that he gained 22 hp from the headers but hes supercharged and that NA people lose low end power etc.
