man, that looks like some tedious work

good luck, it's looking good so far. i think the red reflectors should do the trick cuz it looks like the leds have an orange hue to them. but if you're going to put a red reflector in front of it, couldn't you use white leds? or would that make it pink??

Much props on a 5th gen breakthrough, but don't you think it would look better if the leds were more visable? What I trying to say is, if there are less leds you would get the G35 look if that's what you were aiming for, it may look diffrent on pictures but it looks like a regular bulb is in there.

I love it, and I was thinking of trying to do this as soon as I finish my headlights. I love the orginal look that your going for Playero. Anyone who thinks of LED tails thinks of individual LED's... but your getting the Caddy look, which you don't really find in any aftermarket product. Great idea, and great to see how well its comming along!!!

Maybe you need to check your car out if you dont know how they look, there are about a million pictures here, Search is your friend.

I know that i will have smart *#(#& posting here soon, so here you go for the second time I am NOT going for the G35 LOOK, it doesnt look good, trust me the housing is curved and the reflector has segments so is not worth it....once the second org member opens their lights then all of you migh get the point. :-)

I am currrently looking in junk yards for cadillac deville lights i will cut them and make them look as close as i can... remember this was a preview is not the final product...

there are a total of 126 LEDs in each board so... its bright like a &#&# it looks like orange in pictures but in person they are RED.. Also they are Clear LEDs

Ps Thanks for the few positive opinions, :-)

I've seen them and I've seen his working conditions....how bout some of you give up your kitchen table to work on these things....

Playero's house is a mess because of this **** and when he is all said and done, maybe some can appreciate his efforts...

not knowing a damn thing bout electrical myself and him explaining what came out as "chinese" to me, I can appreciate and applaud his efforts

Glad to see the LEDs are working now. You got me all excited to see them last month at Don's garage, and have been waiting ever since for the pictures.

Believe me, Playero explained what he went through to make these. This was no overnight or weekend project. I still cringe at the thought of dremeling the taillights.

Can't wait to see them on the car... Let me know when you plan to pay a visit to Don's.

PS - How did those angel eyes come out?????

Hey Jairo, those look hot. The only thing that looks off is around the edges. They dont follow the curves of the lights. Other then that, they are hot. Good work.

I have a few questions...

Maybe I mis-read...but I was under the "assumption" you hand created these lights on the waferboard (hand fed the LEDS and soldered 'em together)? But then for some reason I seem to think you are scouting junkyards for Caddy rear lights....What am I not picking up on, or rather missing?

Is this creation a multistage light? Meaning so many rows on for "parking" lights and then they all light up for a brake light?

I am always looking for better illumination for nighttime safety and this looks good. I would have to put them in smoked tails, but so far I like. Seems extremely bright to me...but we all know pics really cant do justice to lighting setups.

Hope all your hard work pays off for ya!

everything u see there is HAND LAID by himself....he is looking for tails (I am pretty sure) for the purpose of disection to see how they operate.

Looks awesome. It seems to be way brighter or is that just me?
What are you going to do for the amber half? Since you have it all opened up, I would get some red lens from the junkyard, dremel it out to match the amber and replace it. You can completely customize the way the rear lights go on!
Keep up the good work.

Nice work, Playero. You doing this opens the door for other creative/able minds and hands to work on 5th gen taillights in the future. Thanks for being the first.

Jairo, nice strobe bulb sitting in the back of one of your pictures

I hope that you did not sacrifice your strobes for the LEDs. Good work on the project. Good luck with finishing it up.

lol I am in a way they are not on top anymore they are on the bottom where the amber goes , might use them in the custom system install...comming in Spring
thanks

Thanks for all the support and thumbs up, i am basically trying all resources to get what i want. is hard because i want to get this over with but why do half a job...New yorks weather is not helping either...the hard part is gettin the caddy 99,00,01,02 tail lights from junk yards. I will keep the update once i get to seal the tails.

PS i am not doing the amber since i might put my strobes in them.

The LEDs look too small. I like the G35 ones better but nice though!
