Hello there fellow maxima drivers i just did a stupid thing today. I accidently shifted my 4 speed auto from 1 to 3 gear and my car bogged and made a shut down of my radio for a millisecond. Now, the question is do you think that my tranny is idiot proof or would it hold? I dont know if i should take it to my local nissan dealer and have it checked.

there is no reason that going from 1st gear to 3rd gear would cause any problems. Take it in if something isnt right, but I doubt it was from shifting. UNless you meant goin from 3rd to 1st??

 

shifting 1-3 wouldn't do a thing. shifting 3-1 won't do a thing.

 

The same thing would have happen in a manual transmission. Nothing to worry about.

 

DO NOT DOWN**** IN AN AUTO. this is a big mistake. rules do not apply in an auto as they do in a manual.
