short throw shifter options

I am looking at possibly installing a short throw shifter in my maxima, i've only had it 3 weeks. In looking for shifters, i've noticed B & M and Pacesetter shifters cover from '95-'01, while other less expensive shifters only cover from '95-'99. Will these less expensive shifters fit on a 00 maxima. I've also read some bad feedback on these short throw shifters, as in don't do it. Is one shifter that much better than the other, or all of them truely not that great?

I have one on my car. Very stiff. People driving my car for the first time miss shift. I'm used to it and I don't mind. You just have to be careful sometimes making sure gears are all the way in. Sometimes it feels like it's in and I let go the clutch and you hear loud grinding sound from tranny.
