Upgrade to 02 in-dash CD changer

I've got a factory single CD Bose stereo in my 01 SE (double DIN). I want to put in a factory 6-disk in-dash CD changer from an 02 Maxima. Is this a direct plug-n-play affair or will I run into problems with wiring or mechanical issues?

Any wire adapters required??

Thanks!

Ron

Yeah, if you upgrade from a single CD Bose to a 6-disc, it's plug and play. If you go from non-Bose to Bose, you'll have problems.

It's Bose to Bose so it should be an easy swap! And it will still be "factory" looking - which ain't bad.

Thanks for the quick reply!

I checked into getting a 6-disk add on changer for the trunk and both places I asked said it would NOT work if I had a Bose system in the dash. Since my headunit has Bose written all over it I decided to replace the head unit with 6-disk in-dash change (providing it will work). The guy who wants to sell me the 6-disk indash says it will only work if you already have a Bose system. Wadda ya think?

I have seen a couple of people do it here on the org. IF you have a bose HU, then you can update to the indash 6 disk bose cd changer. The onlything that will not work is the SCV or sound control volume for when u accelerate the volume increases. If you DONT have the bose, then it will not work unless you update all your speakers and add the amp. I've seen the complete set for pretty cheap on ebay and on the org. You can give that a try too.
