the panic button

i set off my alarm 2x last week by accident. the 1st time i was coming out of wendys with my food and my keys in the same hand when i heard a car honking and i thought "gee sounds like an alarm going off" and then i saw my max flashing its lights at me. doh! the next day i was getting out of my car with the keys in my hand and i pressed the panic button again. both front doors were open and i scared my friend pretty bad. someone please reaffirm that i'm not the only idiot who this has happened too.

It only happens to me if I have the key fob in my pocket and I stoop down when washing the car or something.

yeah when im carrying up a ton of groceries or when i have them in my waist line. it becomes annoying. they need to recess the button intothe remote more. at least the horn is loud.

I know I'll get flamed for this, either here on the .ORG or later when I'm burning in he11.

My mom used to come visit when my first son was born, and she smokes. She's real cool, though, and even though it was the middle of winter she would go outside so as not to offend or upset anyone. Well, I told her one day that it was just too cold outside, just smoke in the garage, no one will care. So, she's down there one afternoon, and I'm on the second floor just putzing around and see my keys. Yeah, you guessed it - I picked 'em up, held down the panic button, and laughed my butt off.

I went down to see her, and she (obviously) had this surprised look on her face like "What'd I do?". I told her it was me, and we had a good laugh. She's used to my particular brand of humor.

On a related note - my remote will work from an insane distance - I've had it as far as nearly 200 feet in a parking lot. My old friends were shocked that I could flash the lights from that far away, when theirs will hardly work from two car lengths.

Just my little anecdote for the day.

I've never done the alarm, but my son was playing with my keys and I didn't think anything of it. Went to get in my car the next day and there was 2" of snow on the front seat.... he held down the unlock button and rolled the windows down during a snowstorm

mine works from the 13th floor of my old office building. I'd park my car in the visitor spot about 100 feet from the building and could make the lights flash from floor 13
