Those with DDE - what are some things you've noticed?

1) At dusk, when I drive only with mine on (blue) and fogs, the left lane is mine. People move over, almost immediately.

2) At night, I get pulled asking what kind of lights are those?

3) I get lots of double takes and strange looks from 5 series owners

4) I get strange stares when both my kids are in the car and it's dusk and my blue DDE are blazing away

5) Officers no likey the blue

What about those of you with them on your cars?

people usually do move out of my way, even without them. i think everyone stares since nobody expects to see rings on anything than a bmw.

-lots of stares
-2 incidents where cars driving beside me literally stop or slow down to look and almost cause an accident
-comments and questions "where did you get those?, what kind of lights are they?" "I love those lights you have"
*AUTOZONE Manager. "Those lights are cool!"

Since I've installed mine and painted the housings (pictures available at my web-site), I've gotten many compliments.

In the Orlando area, people drive wherever they want to. This means that the right lane is usually the fastest. But ever since I've gotten the lights installed, I've noticed that alot more people get out of the way. I do notice that alot of them slow down to get a closer look, which doesn't help me get where I'm going.

As far as the look, they are awesome. I had a problem when I first got them installed with them not firing up correctly, but as they were used more and more, the problem went away, and I haven't had that problem since.

I know alot of people complain about the quality, but I think that they are great. My sister works for FedEx, so I asked her about the packaging and the broken housings. She gave me some recommendations, which I passed on to Umnitza. Hopefully this will help reduce the number of broken rings recieved. Other than that, everything is great.

Yes, many stares. I had a 3.0CL pass me on the left really quick and then all of a sudden slow down and the driver is just staring in the lights. This was on the freeway! I wanted to tell him to keep his eyes on the freakin' road but the DDE's just too damn sickwitit.
We had a mini meet in norcal a month or so ago and we were taking some pics during the night-time. Some people had come by, asking where we got the lights and we told them it wouldn't fit on his Honduh.
So to recap, I've noticed:
1. Stares in awe
2. Stares in jealousy

I just installed my DDE's last night, so it's a little early for many impressions from others. But I can say this: My girlfriend can't keep her hands off me ever since she saw 'em! Okay, maybe not. Bit she's very impressed (and a tough sell)
She said say they look much brighter and whiter in person than they looked in the pictures I showed her.

And seriously Matt: Big time props for a unique quality product that really performs. I had high expectations after seeing many pictures, but these things blow me away in person. I'm holding off on posting my "I just installed my DDE's and they're friggin' amazing" thread since my car is covered in salt and I want to take some good shots...but look for more praise/pictures after my detailing project this weekend.

I think that's another "whimsical" statement.

These will NOT get you pulled over!
