Blue/xenon in the tails...

There's several other guys on here that have done this already, so I'm not claiming to be original here, but just thought that maybe someone out there is interested in what this looks like and what bulbs you can get to do it. When lit, they are pretty damn bright white and give better reverse visibility compared to the stock bulbs. I like the blue reflection they give when unlit, personally

Where you get them and how much? Also, are there any bulbs that anybody has used for the break lights or turn signals that look really sweet? And while were on the topic, what size bulbs are used to light up the speedometer? Might as well try to get them all at once. Thanks in advance

Like I said...not claiming to be original here, just felt like posting a pic!

I'll post where I got them when I check the package tomorrow at work....just punch in POLARG into your browser and you should be able to find a place that sells them...

I got some chrome amber bulbs off of ebay for my 2001 se. They look chrome until they light up then they are yellow. I like the looks of them. No yellow shining through when the lights are off. I've also got the PIAA extreme whites for the back up bulbs that should be here Monday.

Just put in the blue tinted bulbs a couple days ago. Looks cool, and lights up just fine. They're actually pretty noticable when they're not on, just cause of the blue color, which I think is pretty cool.

i mostly do it so all my lights match. every light i have on my car both exterior and interior are polarg's hyper white (except brake and signal lights). they look good when you go in reverse and it matches my rear corner lights and license plate lights.

...coming from a guy with a rear window spoiler

you know...every riced out Honda around here has clear side markers...some might say that clear side markers are ricey (not to mention illegal, speaking of "bait for popo")....but you know, each to his own

I don't think the blue bulbs are ricey, and you do
You don't think clear sides are ricey, and I do.

So maybe we're both ricey

btw- nothing illegal about having the reverse lights looking blue when off. They are white when on. Only bulbs that SHINE blue are illegal.

I got pulled over the other day for speeding and the cop told me the blue lights look good as long as they're not blue strobes...and only gave me a warning on the speeding (17-over)....

There are alot more ricey things on .org members cars than little tiny blue bulbs.

possibly, but the bone i'm picking is with this whole thread. so yeah, they light up nicely, but so far, not one picture has showed these extreme levels of brightness. everyone's showing pics of the bulbs as they look when not on. which, to me....means they're buying them for the contrast they give off....which is why i find this thread so very funny that it's dumb. we've gone so far as to dedicate a whole thread to a bulbs shadowing when OFF. i'm sorry, but that's just too funny....

i'm also laughing at this and not taking it seriously, where as i'm feeling you've taken this more personally...

and what's worse, people are gettin pumped and wanna buy them, NOT because you've demonstrated their brightness levels, and NOT because they match, because you didn't show how they match, but JUST because they show up blue......again, i'm just laughing cause i think it's really ridiculous..no flaming, no offense, and certainly no beef with you, cause i've read your posts, and you seem like a very smart and respectable member, but i'm allowed to mock some posts, aren' i.

everyone in this org who mods has the "rice" factor....in one way or another....

but Polo hit the nail on the head.....this thread is not very informative as to why blue bulbs that dont look right on a 5th gen Maxima tail are functional....
specially during the day "OMG! he's got blue bulbs!...thats what I want to do...."

the reason why nobody has shown what they look like at night is because the person who started the thread wanted the lights more for what they looked like when they were off. he wanted the blue tint when the lights were off. therefore, people posted pictures of what they looked like during the day to help him out.

to help you out, i will post a picture of them at night.

Comeon man, you read my post at the top - I stated that they are brighter than stock reverse bulbs and very white in color when lit. I haven't had a chance to take a night pic of them when lit. Besides, I don't drive around in reverse, so how bright they are is nice, but not really useful...

I bought them for the blue reflection in the daytime. I think it looks nice, and not too over-the top.

Not picking on Manny's spoiler or clear corners - just saying that one person's rice is another's nice, that's all....I don't jump into every clear side marker thread and say "that's ricey" do I?

I just did this thread as an FYI, not a "do you like what I did" thead - just in case anybody wanted to do it or see what it looked like.

And I know why you NY/NJ guys don't like it - you're afraid that the thiefs up there will think its a HID taillight and steal it with your headlights! j/j

and Polo - I'll be the first to admit I did this because I like the way they look when OFF. I don't give a **** what my reverse lights look like when lit.....they're reverse lights!

Anyways, not offended by any comments - I just like arguing and since this computer can't show the sarcasm and/or facetiousness in my voice, it "reads" like I'm all serious...

and I keep on writing all these long-a.s.s posts. I need a life.
